Here are answers to some of the questions you may have about Lil Formers. This info will likely grow with the site, so if you have any other question about Lil Formers just give me a shout at Matt@MattMoylan.com .
Lil Formers is a parody comic strip created, written, drawn, inked and coloured by me, Matt Moylan. It’s based on and pokes fun at Hasbro’s Transformers mega-property (with the occasional guest star from outside the TF universe). While most of the strips revolve around the original 1980s TF toy line and cartoon, any aspect of the franchise is fair game. So expect jabs at the Tranformers from every angle - the upcoming TF movie, any toy line, and TV show, any comic, and maybe even those crazy TF fans!
As a comic strip, it started out as just a piece of fan art I drew of the character Shockwave. I was really just taking a shot at drawing a Transformer for the first time, and since all I can draw half-decently is the cutesy “chibi”-style (just an amateur artist here guys!) that’s the style I went for. Well, Shockwave seemed a hit with TF message boarders, and after a few follow up strips it turned into a series. Yay!
Of course even before that I had an inkling to do something similar. Back when I worked at the ill-fated Dreamwave Productions (former holder of the TF comic book license), and inspired by Matt Nelson’s great Superdeformers web comics, I tried a few times to get a TF comedy comic series off the ground, but the project never totally came together. I certainly never considered drawing the thing myself.
In a few places actually! You can find it here at lilformers.com of course, the official home of the strip. You can also read exclusive strips you won’t find anywhere else at tfw2005.com, and in the Transformers Official Club Magazine. More on each of these below!
Also, stay tuned for updates some other places Lil Formers will soon be turning up in print. Things are starting to really take off!
Transformers World 2005
TFW2005.com is the premiere TF news website, and the gang there has been kind enough to host a Lil Formers gallery where you can seen all the strips added as they’re created., as well as discuss the strips on their message boards. I also provide the site with an exclusive strip every month that you can’t even see here on my own site so you should definitely check them out!

For the most part, no.
While I have pretty much been continuously involved in one official TF project or another for the past 5 years, Lil Formers is not an official Hasbro TF series in any way. Well… mostly. The only Lil Formers strips that get an official thumbs up from Hasbro are those featured in the Official Club Magazine. Everything else is just for fun… for now, heh.
