uhmm in the series if my memory doesen’t fail me blue is rumble dinobot island or the one where decepticons captures autobot minds (the animated did not have to kickass story)
I feel Frenzy is blue and Rumble should be red. That’s just my opinion, because that’s how the toys had it, so I follow them (since basically every Transformers show/comic is really just to promote the toys)
like I once read on a website; the name Frenzy gives the impression of death & blood & stuff so Frenzy is DEFINITELY the RED one because blood is red (apart from when it is unoxygenated… soz for nerdy kinda fact i cant help it im a nerdy kinda girl). The cartoon is right all hail TFG1 cartoon! Oh, and also, Rumble is the cute one if thats any consolation!
i get the feeling from these comments that everyone is right. toys version -frenzy is blue, rumble is red. tv version (my prefered version) rumble is blue, frenzy is red. there happy?
so, the infamous Rumble/ Frenzy question continues. At lest it didn’t end badly for the Insecticons (see In Space, no one hears you Starscream/www.insecticon.com’s archive)
I had asked MAtt Moylan himself a few months back what his opinion was in an e-mail when I noticed that the avatars had FIRRIB, while a comic printed in the Transformers Collectors Club issue 14 (I think it was 14) had FIBRIR. Here’s a summary of his explanation:
Rumble is the blue one Frenzy’s the red one, how can an entire cartoon series be wrong when they’re the things that come first! the toys got it screwed up!
ALL I SEE ARE STUPID GREY BOTS. DAMN YOUR MONOCHROMATIC PREJUDICES!
(I find it amusing that they were both red/black in the movie… This is akin to arguing who was better in the first “Street Fighter II” game: Ken or Ryu)
Eesh, this debate has been going on for ages. In the toys (and I think the comics) Frenzy was the blue, and Rumble was the red. In the cartoons, Rumble was the blue, and Frenzy the red. That’s the one I go with, because I never saw any of the comics or toys, only the cartoon. So everyone’s right. (Of course, in the live-action movie Frenzy is silver. -shrugs-)
I think the point of the comic is that the debate is pointless: The Red One is just The Red One and The Blue One is just The Blue One. Which is Rumble and Which is Frenzy? Neither. Both.
1)Watch the cartoon and wait for Soundwave to say “Rumble, Eject” or “Frenzy, eject”, see what color the tape is.
2)Visit http://transformers.wikia.com and search for “rumble” or “Frenzy” look for his picture there.
I find it surprising that people would quote the G1 cartoon as their source for their opinion, considering how inaccurate it was. eg: remind me again - who built who, Megatron or the Constructicons? Who again were all those extra Seekers on Earth? And where did all those Season 2 characters come from, and why did their Cybertonium run out at the same time as the Season 1 characters? Yeah, sure, the cartoon MUST be right. (Except when it isn’t.)
Hasbro, as creator of the characters and the fiction, has the ultimate say - not Marvel (US or UK), not IDW, not Dreamwave, not Sunbow, not AKOM, not Toei. Only Hasbro. So, I suggest examining Hasbro’s Rumble and Frenzy offerings for the answer, and realizing that depictions that don’t line up with this do not have canon authority, even if you personally prefer them that way.
P.S. The toys came first. It’s a cartoon about the toys; they’re not toys of the cartoon. Believing it any other way demonstrates ignorance of Transformers (and pre-Transformers) franchise history.
I can tell the blue one has piledrivers (and thus the blue one’s Rumble) that causes earthquakes, and Frenzy’s Red, due to his Blood-thirsty actions (just my 2 cents, for the Blood-Thirsty thingy ma jig)
Like I said (again)…
Frenzy= A state of violent mental agitation or wild excitement.
You think blue’s the color of blood?!
Red’s the color of blood! Frenzy’s meant to be violent and blood-thirsty
It could be the fact that Hasbro forgot to look up the term ‘frenzy’ (Yeah yeah, I already said that)
And why should his colour be representative of his outlook on life or his abilities? Surely that would mean Rumble should be brown, because he makes the ground shake. Blue is a colour that represents neither Frenzy or Rumble.
There are very few transformers who have colour schemes that reflect their characters or their names in any way whatsoever.
The first iteration of him was as a toy, and he was blue. Thus, Frenzy is blue.
Also, every version of him except the cartoon has coloured him blue. Toy, Marvel, Dreamwave and IDW, all blue. Only the cartoon has him as the red and black one.
Dude, opinions are opinions
some say “Rumble’s Blue”, that’s an opinion (cartoon)
-or-
some say “Rumble’s Red”, That’s also an opinion (Toy and comic)
I’m not that dumb okay.
I meant to say-
Some say “Rumble should’ve been blue”, That’s an opinion
Some say “Rumble should’ve been red like the toy line and comic”, That’s an opinion.
In the original toys, marvel comics, japanese cartoon, dreamwave comics, IDW comics, alternator toys, music label earphones and robot heroes toys Rumble was red! And for the G1 cartoon and Devil’s due comics he was blue. Out of 10 G1 appearances he was red 8 times and blue twice.
…Nuuuuuuu!!!
My “Property of Rumble/Frenzy” Mathemetical term has disappeared due to some glitch!
Well, I don’t care who’s red or blue (for Rumb’ and Frenz’)
Even though I don’t take sides of this debate of Rumble and Frenzy.
if the body is red and the visor red, that’ll be Rumble
if the body is blue/purple and the visor gray, that’ll be Frenzy
But in this comic, those are actually the TV versions, not the true versions.
…Oh wait, I got it wrong… Rumble’s visor is gray (with red body) and frenzy’s visor is red (with blue/purple body). Must’ve saw the wrong figure of Rumble (the red dude) and Frenzy (the blue/purple dude). Even though I don’t care for these confusing characters.

Print: Blue Red
October 27th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Yo Frenzy and Rumble, WE AREN’T IDIOTS HERE!!!!!!!
November 1st, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Actually They’re both Red! In the Movie, The both start as red! But I kinda support the Rumble is Blue and Frenzy is red. I follow the cartoon…
November 9th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Rumble is the blue one Frenzy’s the red one, how can an entire cartoon series be wrong when they’re the things that come first! the toys got it screwed up!

Aww people, can’t we see past the colors and just all get along?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I learned it like this FIRRIB (Frenzy is red, Rumble is blue)
February 18th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
Hasbro really confuses me with this, but I enjoy it in the animated movie when Soundwave sends out his cassette troops, they have the same color!
March 14th, 2009 at 11:10 am
In the show frenzy was red and rumble was blue. In the toy line frenzy was blue and rumble was red. I blame hasbro.
April 10th, 2009 at 6:16 am
There are two ways to settle this:
1)Watch the cartoon and wait for Soundwave to say “Rumble, Eject” or “Frenzy, eject”, see what color the tape is.
2)Visit http://transformers.wikia.com and search for “rumble” or “Frenzy” look for his picture there.

Go here instead: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/RIRFIB
The last advice is unclear.

Frenzy is red and Rumble is blue. They changed that in the Movie. Frenzy was more blue-like then. XD

I can tell the blue one has piledrivers (and thus the blue one’s Rumble) that causes earthquakes, and Frenzy’s Red, due to his Blood-thirsty actions (just my 2 cents, for the Blood-Thirsty thingy ma jig)

May 11th, 2009 at 8:02 pm
i’m so confused… and the live-action movie didn’t help much, either.
June 30th, 2009 at 4:24 am
me and my family are cartoon fans so
Frenzy is red
Rumble is blue
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:46 am
What is FIBRIR?!?!
July 2nd, 2009 at 4:22 pm
FIRRIB!!!
July 12th, 2009 at 8:29 am
Frenzy’s the blue one. He’s blue both as a toy and in the G1 comics. Rumble is only blue in the cartoon, which got so very many things wrong anyway.
July 13th, 2009 at 2:18 am
Like I said (again)…

August 7th, 2009 at 1:54 am
If the comic and toy is always right, does that mean Galvatron really was white?
August 7th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
