Lil Formers #115: Snurfs & Smorks
Sorry for the sketchiness this week, I only have time for a quicky as I’m actuallly on vacation right now and have prepped this strip to auto-post in my absence.
So, all you need to understand this one is to have watched Smurfs, Snorks AND Smoggies when you were a kid. Not too tall of an order?

I love trying to summarize “Smoggies” to people.
“So there are these diesel-punk pirates who are attacking an island of steam-punk midgets in order to steal a magic, psychadelic coral that may, or may not, exist in order to gain eternal youth. No reference is ever made of how they’ll *know* if they become eternally young. Its just an assumption based on how young the midgets look.”

StarSaber; cool your jets please. :\ Matt said he was expanding. As much as we all loved the TF, we have to accept that Matt pretty much ran out of jokes and is taking a break. If you don’t like it, start making your own TF web comic.

I’ve never seen Smoggies, but I’ve seen the other two. They both scared me when I was little, especially the Smurfs. The idea that little blue people could be running around my yard was quite terrifying. XD

Matt, whenever you throw up something as obscure as the Smoggies I go running to youtube. I now feel sorry that you endured that show. My condolences to everybody else who may have seen that as a kid. That’s almost as bad as the stuff they try to forcefeed kids these days.

As with most of the commenters, I watched Smurfs and Snorks but not smoggies.
I think I liked Snorks more than smurfs.

Oh, and Kyra–one can never run out of TF jokes. I recently heard one about Meltdown (TF Animated) being compared to the Great Living Poo (Conker’s Bad Fur Day). Not to mention Waspinator and BW Megs practically set themselves up for ridicule, and everything from RiD through Cybertron was so crappy it was laughable (except Armada, which was mostly okay, though I wasn’t too big on the Minicon gimmicks and whatnot). Wow…I need a life.

Only thing to make this better would have been to see the Aqua Lame Force somewhere in the background of it.

hey, I have an idea for a strip. The “cancelled in their prime” club of old school toons. We can have J.T. Marsh from exo-squad hanging out with eliza maza from Gargoyles with enzo from Reboot with Captain Power being the club president. that gives you a chance to actually DO a gargoyles referrence along with some other obscure shows from childhood.

HunterRose, Reboot was cancelled. There was a fourth season that dealt with the invasion of Daimon and the return of Megabyte that ended at the eighth episode with the words…. “let the hunt begin.” You’re not the first to have missed it. It was even more mature minded than season 3, and parodied Star Wars: Episode 1, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, The Matrix, and the Mummy. So a lot of networks felt the makers were getting a little too brazen and decided not to air it.

…is it a bad thing that I got all three references within two seconds of viewing this comic before reading your blurb at the bottom? Even though I haven’t seen any of them on TV for over 15 years?
