Lil Formers #119: Dis-Formers
Yes I know, it sounds like something ridiculous I would make up but, they really are making a Mickey Mouse Transfomer.
Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.
On a side note, at about an hour, this was one of the fastest Lil Formers strip I ever made

I can think of 3 possible reasons for this transformer’s existence:
1. Since Disney’s purchase of Saban made RID part of Disney, this is an attempt to get Disney to consider a DVD release.
2. Crossovers HAVE gone too far.
3. Hasbro execs/ Primus/ TakaraTomy execs have been drinking. It wouldn’t be the first time.

My thoughts exactly. I can’t believe they are making a Mickey Mouse transformer. It makes my favorite brand seem so sellout-ish. I’m not a real big fan of any of the crossovers.. but this one takes the cake I think.

Stars are dying?!?! come on! I also don’t like the idea, but this is a bit over the top. Consider it a homage, more than a crossover (like Optimash — in this case, Mickey transforms into an optimus-like truck and the mouse has a optimus-ish helmet).
I just hope they don’t make a TF-Disney comic/animation. That would be really ridiculous.

Honestly I don’t mind. I think it’s histerical and fun for fans of both Disney and Transformers. They’re trying to make a buck and at least they went all out homage style and made him turn into a truck, they could have made him turn into a steam boat and slapped the transformer name on it. There are still rumors going around that Transformers may be part of next year’s Kingdom Hearts III. To date they have been very tightlipped about what shows will be in the game. Optimouse Convoy could very well be something that to hint at this being true. With Disney still owning the media rights to Robots In Disguise, if this is to be, I do see a fire engine in the future of KH3.

Maybe there could be a prime time special, like when the Care Bears went down the cloud river and met the Care Bear Cousins. It could be worse - they could make a Transformer that turns into a trainer….
BTW, when you think about it, due to “art imitating life”, the ORIGINAL G1 TFs “sold out”. For example, Mirage sported “Citannes” (meant to be “Guiyannes”), a French brand of Cigarette, Jazz advertised Bacardi, etc.
And G1 even had a Pepsi Convoy mail-away trailer.
