Lil Formers #129: The Megatrons
Last strip of the year! And it’s TFs! And covers a bunch of eras…wow! I think I will be all TF’ed out for a while after this

I like this one. I’d probably vote for the r.i.d. guy to, M.M.
(First Comment?)
December 29th, 2008 at 2:22 am
I know next to nothing about G2. Barely remember R.I.D., though Armada wasn’t that bad if you ignore the minicon aspect of the hunt.
I’ll go with Beast Wars. I mean, when you think about it he does have the most impressive track record as a Megatron in general. He also has about the highest Death:Prime Kill ratio I know of under his leadership.
December 29th, 2008 at 2:28 am
You can’t beat the original, especially considering he managed to kill the best Prime. Everything about G1 Megatron just screamed badass mudda. Giant cannon on his arm, energy mace in his hand, nightmarish gun mode…
But I will admit that R.I.D. and Beast Wars Megatron are tied for a close second. They both got the closest to absolute victory of the lot.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:05 am
It’s not easy being leader of the decepticons. (vote G1)
December 29th, 2008 at 3:08 am
Meg’s can’t decide hehehe!
December 29th, 2008 at 3:10 am
David Kaye, definitely.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:21 am
Beast Wars Megatron didn’t have ridiculous 80s writing to bring him down.
Personally I give my vote to BW Megatron and Cybertron Megatron. Cybertron Megatron was one badass motha’, more so than G1 one Megs if you ask me! Did you see his final fight with the giant Starscream?! Or when he nearly destroyed THE UNIVERSE to rebuild it?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:50 am
Ha ha, Animated Megatron is totes the most bad ass. He’s only had one of his troops betray him (Starscream, natch) and immediately killed the traitor.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:04 am
I know hes not on the strip but Beast MAchines Megs managed to take over all of Cybertron and make a Giant space ship that looked like his head, how can that not win.
This strip is amazing simply cos it has G1, RID and BW megs in one place ^_^
December 29th, 2008 at 6:35 am
I feel that I’ll have to go with A-E-C Megatron on this. I didn’t care much about Tf’s when I was younger, I had a few transformers but none which I knew by name.
Then along came Armada, and with it, Starscream. Closest thing Here? A-E-C Megatron. I rest my Case.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:57 am
Hey this a nice treat! TF goodness!
Its got to be the Beast Era Megs. He wiped out the whole of Cybertron on his return.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Beast War Megatron (yesssss)
I was going list all his strong points, but to be honest …..
…. any Megatron that can be menacing while sitting in his bath *with* his rubber ducky HAS to be the best Megatron ever
December 29th, 2008 at 9:07 am
I was going to go with G1 for being classic, but Grantwhy has a point when it comes to Bear War Megatron.
Plus, how many can create evil plots while in the form of a purple dinosaur on roller skates?
December 29th, 2008 at 9:20 am
What, no Animated Megs? Three words: Starscream Death Montage. No other Megs got that! He also plots while he’s a fricking head trapped in a lab, and he’s seriously persuasive. And terrifying. And almost kills all the Autobots. And gets ahold of the Allspark and temporarily is unstoppable, and survives an explosive device that was planted on his back…y’know what? I’ll stop here, but it’s obvious that he’s my pick.
If I had to choose from *this* list, I would pick G1, though.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:25 am
BW\BM Megs. Animated Megs is more menacing and more of a warrior, but he’d be out schemed by BW\BM Megs.
~Matt Booker
December 29th, 2008 at 9:26 am
I agree with Kookaburra, Animated Megatron doesn’t take anyone’s crap. Plus, in an all out fight to the finish between all the Megatrons, I believe that Animated would win.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:32 am
The best Megatron has to be Beast Wars Megatron, as he is the only Megatron (in the cartoons) to ever conquer Cybertron as the sole ruler. Of course he was basically the only living being left alive until the Maximals arrived on the planet, but that’s Beast Machines for ya.
Favorite is still G1 megs of course. Apart from the fact the he needed to be picked up and fired when he changed into a handgun, he was the most bad ass of all!
December 29th, 2008 at 10:34 am
It´s a tie for me. they should join forces and become “THE MEGATRON SINDICATE” MWAHAHAHA!! they would be unstoppable!
December 29th, 2008 at 10:59 am
to Slashwing:
They will backstab each other
December 29th, 2008 at 11:32 am
Galvatron, I know not ‘technically’ a Megatron, but still Megatron to the core.
Galvatron would pwn them all.
December 29th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
i vote for none of the above <.<
i like only one megatron the best <.< and no one wil…ok alright i give, i vote for g1 original is best in my opinion XD
December 29th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Forgot BWII, BWN, BM, (
) Energon, Cybertron, Animated(vote!),ROTF
otherwise…………………………………………………….RID!
December 29th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
80’s comic Megatron - after merging with ratchet in the space bridge accident…
December 29th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Lol this one was totally completely AWESOME!!!!!! I really liked it.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Man, I love G1 (really the only TF era I’m familiar with) and I can’t remember a purple griffin…
Poor Megatron. This actually speaks directly to my biggest lament for the guy — he has a serious identity crisis. O.Prime is practically as recognizable as Santa Claus — his appearance only gets slight variations — but none of these Megatrons could even necessarily be the same character. It’s why the movie could get away with that ice-sculpture-on-a-bad-day look.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Absolutely Love it! Thanks for another great TF strip!
All the best in the new year!
December 29th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Okay, G1 Megatron was good, and if he had today’s writing styles would probably be the top if not simply tied.
The problem I have is he just seemed to start going senile towards the end of his first life.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
How about good ole Megatron Origin? He kicks the others butts. Out of these I pick G1. And what the heck happened to war within?
December 29th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I vote for Beast Wars Megatron. He was always my favorite Megatron. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I like dinosaurs… Or maybe it’s because none of the other Megatrons really appealed to me.
December 29th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Of course, the R.I.D. Megatron looked fabulously flamboyant.
G1 Megs killed a bunch of guys in the movie, including Optimus, then he mouthed off to Unicron, before becoming Galvatron and killing some more guys.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
I vote for G1, particularly after the Dreamwave run or BW Megs for defeating the Maximals and taking over Cybertron. (I consider Beast Machines a continuation of Beast Wars.)
The first strip of next year should naturally be “Who is the best Optimus.”
December 29th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Err… i dunno. Maybe G1. Then the movie, cause I just know this 2.
The Movie Meg was too… violent and foolish.
(Sorry, if I wrote something wrong, I am just learning English)
December 29th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
I’d vote for R.I.D Megatron, mainly because this Megatron has more alternate modes than anyone, and because I like RID a lot.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Generation 1 Megatron (and Galvatron even though they are the same person).
Never understood where Generation 2 Megatron came from as if I’m correct Galvatron still exists in Generation 2.
If faced with voting against a Generation 1 transformer, I wouldn’t vote at all. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle, TRANSFORMERS! (G.I. Joes wasn’t the only one).
December 29th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Fpcreator2000, In the old Marvel comics, Galvatron was the Megatron from an alternate future. In the main “present” timeline, Megatron never changed into Galvatron, because Optimus Prime and the other Transformers were able to defeat Unicron before that could happen. In the final issue (#80) the Ark crashed to Earth with Megatron still being Megatron. In G2 (Or actually in several issues of Snake-Eyes), it was revealed that Megatron actually survived the crash, and had Cobra build him his new G2 body.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Beast Wars Megatron, yessss. No other Megs oozes that smooth evil, no.
Though if you’d added Animated Megatron…well, he’s got less snazz than BW Megs, but man, he actually, y’know, punishes people for betraying him. And he’s got two nicely loyal bots to his name as well.
December 29th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Best Megs, to date:
Cybertron Megatron, at least until just before Giant Planet.
Yeah, that’s where all his plans went downhill, and he got transformed into the upteenth incarnation of insane-atron (I mean Galavatron)…
Second place goes to Animated Megs, just a tooth ahead of BW Meggy…
December 29th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
I think the Armada one looked the most badass.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:13 am
Beast Wars/Beast Machines Megatron, hands down. Not only was he the most charismatic but he was the only Megatron with the ball bearings to steal G1 Megatron’s spark. Let’s not forget he also killed Optimus Primal THREE TIMES (BW season 1 finale, BM season 1 finale, and BM series finale…technically) and shot Optimus Prime in the face while the Autobot was sleeping. Yeah, I know, those didn’t stick; Optimuses are tricky that way.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:18 am
I think a villain should be judged by how popular he is in comparison to the hero. If everybody likes the bad guy more than the good one, you know you have a winner. (Boba Fett, Stone Cold, etc) So comparing the popularity vs the corresponding Prime’s, the winner would have to be…
BW/BM Megs. Hands down. Bad Ass who Killed TWO different Primes, Ruled Cybertron, had 5! incarnations, and of course, changed the spacetime continuum vs…. a Blue Surfing Boss Monkey.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:28 am
In Movie Megs defense, he WAS killed by a object of (presumably) supernatural origin.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:05 am
Best Megs - G1 and BW
December 30th, 2008 at 8:35 am
G2 Megatron. I mean, he ripped through a pretender shell with his bare hands! He killed Fortress Maximus!
December 30th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
bw megs easy even though i liked rid megs aswell but cant really say anything about g2 megs cos i don’t know him
December 30th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Wheres Transformers Cybertron Megatron? Eh well no one really cared for that one anyway. lol but this is pretty funny. Movie Megs is stupid.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
This is one of my favorites. Very, very funny.
Beast Wars Megatron FTW!!!
December 30th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
You forgot Animated Megs…and I see someone mentioned Cybertron Megs…
December 30th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
I vote for movie megs, cuz everyone else got the other factions covered, and I love crazy-ass mace-welding megatron!
December 30th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
G1! NO CONTEST!
December 30th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Ya know you should draw one about the Optimus Prime now. Just to make things fair
December 30th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
RID was the coolest! And he looked GREAT in his White, Galvatron version!
December 30th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
You missed Animated Megs, who would get my vote. BW Megatron is a close second. And why do you have G2 Megs seperate when he’s just G1 in a new body?
December 30th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
G1! Giant Purple Griffin FTW!
December 30th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
G2 Megatron. Psychotic, calculating, and absolutely ruthless. One of the best villians in any medium.
@ KFGatri: I think he’s implying G1 Megatron is the animated Megs. There was no giant purple griffin in the comics.
December 31st, 2008 at 1:52 am
I vote for TFA.
December 31st, 2008 at 2:31 am
Beast Wars for sure, T Rex for the win!
December 31st, 2008 at 2:52 am
My vote goes for Animated Megatron for being classy, evil, manipulative, violent and badass all at once.
December 31st, 2008 at 3:10 am
Every time G1 Megatron came up with an idea, and the Autobots beat him through grit and luck, he never tried the same scheme again. Why not make three or four transfixatrons (for example), equip several Decepticons with one, and take out the Autobots?
At least Beast Wars / Machines Megatron had good reasons for not trying his schemes a second time: the Maximals tended to irreparably change the situation when they beat his schemes. Blow up the alien artifacts? Sure, why not?
December 31st, 2008 at 4:38 am
David Kaye
Yeeeees!
December 31st, 2008 at 8:40 am
Decay, Megatron used a Giant Purple Griffin in the episode ‘Aerial Assault’. It’s the episode that featured the Aerialbots and Hassan/Prince Jamal, where the Aerialbots were taken apart by plane thieves and the prince disguised as a marketboy helped them rebuild Slingshot and defeat the griffin.
December 31st, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Decay: Animated does not mean G1 cartoon, Animated is a seperate series with the most skilled Megatron so far.
December 31st, 2008 at 2:26 pm
instead of G2 Megatron u should had TFA Megatron, so ok…
December 31st, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Here’s hoping for a part 2, adding Shattered Glass Megatron to the mix!
He might feel somewhat out of place, however…
January 1st, 2009 at 8:22 am
I’d vote G1 or BW any day…..
January 1st, 2009 at 3:16 pm
arrgh such a tough call, I really got started on BW and the whole YESSSS thing and being able to plot with a rubber duck, WHILE brushing his alt modes teeth, and keeping a serious no crap air is pretty hard too top. Animated Megatron was kick ass, with his smexy voice and better bucket head, but not the best megsy to be made. I gotta say I’m torn between BW, RID, and Armada.
eh wth: STARSCREAM FOR PRESIDENT!
January 1st, 2009 at 7:28 pm
gotta be BW Megs, yesss. G1 has a lot going for him, but his numerous idiotic plans in the first 2 seasons of the cartoon and decision not to just kill Starscream a long time ago take him down. Meanwhile BW Megs ended up taking over all of Cybertron in a rubbish cartoon, but before that he was an actual threat to Primal and his gang. And he transforms into Barney. Surely that gives him a huge head-start in the evil stakes?
January 2nd, 2009 at 12:48 pm
hope this clears something up: g1 megatron managed to, as he transformed, fit most of his mass into a pocket in time, making himself smaller, but still as powerful. (ps i go with g1, he was hilarious, and you cant beat the basics!!)
January 2nd, 2009 at 3:16 pm
If RID Megs has 10 modes, that kinda makes him feel like an end boss (that’s just my 2 cents). I’m going for…… G1!
January 2nd, 2009 at 9:14 pm
You know,… Although the US RiD Megatron model was a retool for what became Galvatron and thus able to transform in all of Galvatron’s modes, he was only intended to have 6 modes. The original Japanese mold was different from this mold and was only able to transform into that 6 molds and not the extra 4.
January 3rd, 2009 at 11:28 am
All Hail Gen One Megatron!
What? Tis classic.
January 3rd, 2009 at 1:23 pm
i still vote for G1.
think about it. you can do armed robbery with the realistic G1 gun mode.
you’d even get shot by the police if you show it.
can you do that with a T-Rex or freaky hand mode?
January 4th, 2009 at 2:31 am
Happy to see the bots are taking over lilformers again!!!
I know you don’t watch the animated series, but I think Animated Megs is the most badass. He even has a scary look (except for the Armada one, the rest suck in terms of look). Also, he is the only one that seem to have BRAINS. I know, I know. I love G1, but, have you seen the series now, as a grown up? G1 Megs is kinda stupid and not strategic at all!
Watch Animated. I guarantee it will grow on you.
January 4th, 2009 at 7:41 am
So many Megatrons, so little time….
Though, there should be an Ultamate Megatron Throwdown;
sorry, Galvatron can’t play; adding a multiple personality disorder to the mix would only create a mess.
January 4th, 2009 at 7:43 am
Hey, did anyone mention that “Steam-Punk” Megatron who turns into that post Civil War cannon?
January 4th, 2009 at 10:40 am
G1 Megs is def the Best Megatron, He’s still around till now…, most of the other Megs are mostly gone now (End of TV series/comics.. etc..), G1 Megs will always be around - ALL HAIL (G1) MEGATRON..!!!!
Animated Megs comes a close second coz he’s very close to G1 Megs in a number of ways…
Beast Wars/Machines Megs would be my 3rd pick, devious & ruthless, plus he turns into a giant floating head that rules over cybertron in BM…!!!
January 4th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
do a comic about the transformers II autobots and decepticons rollcall
January 5th, 2009 at 2:43 am
G1 - 4 million year snooze then got killed
g2 - teamed up with optimus, the wuss
bw-bm - evil murdering swine, got killed twice
rid - sat on his ass doing nothing, got killed
armada-energon - got killed, had a snooze in unicron’s tummy.
Cybertron - got killed twice, couldn’t even kill scattershot.
Movie - fell asleep for ages in cold bath, got killed by that box off of hellraiser.
Animated - fell asleep in an ethnically spurious child’s lab, kills starscream lots.
It’s gotta be bw-bm megs, if only because speech impediments are funny.
January 5th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
What purple griffin? And I like the RID Meg the best, I mean a Dragon mode, a gun mode and a Freeking hand mode? >.<
January 5th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
You should do one that compares Movie Megatron with General Grievous. After all, both DID die in their respective movies rather quickly, and are amazingly complex. And a Megatron that can change into 10 different alt. forms, has attitude… Y’know, I vote for ALL of them
January 6th, 2009 at 4:34 am
Out of all those, I would go for BW Megatron. He was extremely intelligent and pretty much on top of his game. Plus, he had a good sense of humor (rubber duckie, anyone?). Other than that, I would have gone for Beast Machines Megatron (who’s actually BW Megatron) only because he had TOTAL CONTROL of an entire freakin’ planet!
January 6th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
YOU FORGOT THE ANIMATED MEGATRON!
January 6th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
FROM TF ANIMATED!
January 7th, 2009 at 6:00 am
For me, I’ll rather choose Cybertron Megatron.
He’s much cooler, more handsome and powerful.
January 8th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Beast Wars/Beast Machines Megatron completely took over Cybertron for a time. You forgot Galvatron, Animated and War Within. Also, R.i.D has 6 modes, 4 more were added when he became Galvatron.
January 8th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
you should do some invader zim comics to.
January 9th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
wheres animated megs
January 9th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
BWII, BWN and BM have the same Megatron as BW. And Energon and Cybertron have the same as Armada.
January 10th, 2009 at 3:39 pm
You filthy Geewunner. Or RIDUNNER. Who knows. Bu seriously, submit to animated. Its phuper awesome!
January 14th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
I vote TFA, yesssssss.
January 19th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
thank god those are the GOOD megatrons. don’t get me started on cybertron.
January 19th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
and by the way the animated ones in a class all his own.
January 24th, 2009 at 4:32 am
@ Taiya001
I agree another vote for War Within/Origins
January 24th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Where’s Animated Megatron?
February 6th, 2009 at 9:45 am
Hold on there. . . .
A hand? A freaking HAND!? What has happened to transformers?
Oh well, I vote for the original.
February 6th, 2009 at 9:46 am
Animated Megatron couldn’t make it cause he was still in space argueing with Starscreams head.
February 7th, 2009 at 1:00 am
Raymond T, Thanks for the explanation, but I was referring to the G1 TV Series, where Megatron and Galvatron are one and the same. Although, you are right about the comic book version G2 Megatron since there was no such character in the TV series as it never really got to the point of becoming G2. (I read the old marvel book, but I’m not a real fan of it). I tried getting into the new transformers comics but too many story arcs happening at the same time to keep track.
My ultimate wish is that they either reboot the 80’s series into a new show, or continue where the left of (for the american version). Or create a G2 transformers T.V. series. with filler episodes that explain the historical gap between the shows. But thats just wishful thinking.
March 3rd, 2009 at 9:35 am
Personality-wise, Beast Megatron wins. He didn’t just kill his enemies, he took their souls(sparks) too.
Fight-wise, Armada Megatron wins (if he’s using his body from Transformers Cybertron that is)
March 10th, 2009 at 9:22 am
G1, original, real-deal, accept NO substitutes!!
March 16th, 2009 at 7:29 am
would vote for R.I.D. too, that one is my favorite!!
March 23rd, 2009 at 6:20 pm
Funny, but i’d like to add something:
Animated Megatron: Oh I am definitely the smartest and most calm of all of them, and I don’t transform into that pathetic, puny gun! Plus I am voiced by Cory Burton, the greatest, villainous voice-actor of all!
April 13th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
Gigatron, not megatron.
In my mind, hes a different from them all as BW2 Galvatron.
April 28th, 2009 at 8:18 am
Can’t decide o.o I like the Movie one and the G1 and the Mini-con Master XD To many @.@
May 5th, 2009 at 4:41 am
All in favor of Movie Megatron say “I”. (cricket sound)
May 11th, 2009 at 5:20 am
I like him, because he has made the shortest apearance of all Megatrons in one Movie XD
May 23rd, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Personally, I’m in favor of Animated Megatron, as he seems to be the only Megatron who’s read the Evil Overlord List.
May 25th, 2009 at 3:21 pm
rid and animated megatron for teh win
May 28th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I vote for Animated Megatron.
May 29th, 2009 at 12:09 am
For me.
Animated all the way.
him or BW.
My argument,
Even when all but 2 of his guys betrayed him he STILL almost won. Now that is kick ass.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:51 am
G1 first place!
TFA second!
BW third!
although you’ve got to admit, RID megs is cute.
And Movie unanimously voted as last place!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
In Revenge of the Fallen, Megatron turned into a goddamn flying tank.
How can you not vote for him?
July 17th, 2009 at 9:24 am
I grew up with armada!
July 18th, 2009 at 7:47 pm
awww they forgot the TV transformer show ENERGON
July 18th, 2009 at 7:47 pm
and also the first TV show
August 20th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
no animated Megs? WTF? He had such class and exquisite taste, though. And he actually killed Starscream.
October 14th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
and shockblast in energon
November 6th, 2009 at 12:07 am
i like R.I.D but really G1 FTW. big as cannon, big as ilegal to own as a replica toy “disguise” mode. really he is the coolest
November 6th, 2009 at 12:08 am
also G1 always reminded me of SW storm troopers. especially with his aim. your a huge as gun shoot by another huge as armed to the teeth more dakka bot. HOW DO YOU MISS???
November 10th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
G1 and movie for shure
December 3rd, 2009 at 9:43 pm
I don’t care what anyone say the movie Megatron was terrifying. Despite the film’s plot The Decepticon were actually tacticaly serious. What other Decepticons actually KILLED HUMANS for god sake. Sure movie Megs dies, but what percentage of villians actually live in movies. Isn’t the beauty of a giant robot story is they never dies just get rebuilt. If you were walkign down a dark empty street and any of these Megs landed in front of you I think you all know which one would make you piss you pants more. That demonic face can’t be beat.
January 4th, 2010 at 1:54 am
r.i.d. Megatron pwns all Megatrons!!!
January 9th, 2010 at 5:33 pm
BW Megs actually had about 6 actually loyal troops (if you count Beast Machines): Inferno, Scorponok, Thrust, Strika, Obsidian and the rubber ducky.
January 15th, 2010 at 4:08 am
R.I.D… definatly
January 26th, 2010 at 7:02 pm
R.I.D. FTW
February 7th, 2010 at 3:03 am
BW Megatron could afford to keep traitors around ’cause he always had the drop on everyone who thought they were being oh-so-devious. This guy’s a Death Note-class schemer, yesssss. Of course, for sheer badassery, it’s gotta be Animated Megatron. The deep, chilling voice, the power to hammer any Autobot who dares attack him and any Decepticon who dares betray him into scrap… awesome. But what breaks the tie is results. Every Megatron wants to take over Cybertron, but only one has done it. I guess brains really do win out against raw strength.
April 23rd, 2010 at 7:30 pm
BWN’s villain was MAGMAtron, not MEGAtron.
BWII’s Galvatron is also separate from the rest.
As is IDW Galvatron.
I have no preference myself, but I should point this out.
Has anyone thought of TransTech Megatron?

Tough call. G1 Megs was the original badass with his arm cannon and mannerisms (and he turned into Galvy) and Frank Welker did a hell of a job voicing him and the guy’s love of destruction was just awesome. Armada Megs was so much more than Minicons (most of which he lost cause of Starscream letting the Autobots get to the Cons base). This guy started like anyother Megatron: Firm leader, constantly wants to kick Prime’s butt, retreating when things seemingly go wrong. His last fight in Amada also gave him some nice lines that sorta describe all Prime Megatron relations (”throughout our careers we’ve been evenly matched”) He managed to get Unicron’s body under his control (G1 Galvy just got ate instead) and then this guy tries to destroy and recreate the universe. A for ambition. Movie Megs may look weird but he’s a Megatron no less. The guy tears Jazz in half, ended up frozen because he flew half way across the galaxy and pretty much got to where he wanted to be before he fell, kills prime quite definatively, AND this guy more or less manages to keep his Starscream in line. RID is alright, BW Megs I’ll admit had an interesting personality and single handedly took over cybertron. Meh i still vote Armada Megs. The guy cheats death as much Starscream and gets pretty far

G1 Megatron was supreme leader of all Decepticons for a reason, in his continuity, and as Galvatron (if we’re counting that) was the most powerful. Keeping his fusion canon in mind, I would say he was more powerful than all of the other Megatrons. However, Unicron Trilogy Megatron had other advantages - unicron armor, the cyber planet keys (Cybertron), energon enhancements (Energon), the mini-cons (Armada). The fight between G1 Galvatron and Armada Megatron in the Dreamwave comics does pretty well illustrating the two - Megatron only won because of the Star Saber. As Energon Megatron and Cybertron Megatron are more powerful, I would give the win to Cybertron Megatron, and, adding on Cybertron Galvatron.

My vote goes to the Beast Wars’ incarnation of Megatron.
David Kaye portraying his character just worked for me on so many levels that I don’t see myself giving points out to any of the other Megatron characters out there.
*I am aware he was involved in other Megatron and Optimus Prime works but I prefer to keep my nostalgia intact for the sake of my sanity.*
In that series, Megatron’s personality had the perfect mix of qualities. He was intelligent, powerful, and charismatic. However, he was never above allowing the audience the occasional glimpse of him NOT taking himself too seriously in a variety of manners which I feel has been the major flaw of every other Megatron in existence.
Plus, the idea that he could never be “truly” double-crossed as he always expected it sooner or later from all of his troops was a risk that paid off in his design.
The only reason major backstab moments happened to him were because otherwise there would have been so few opportunities to advance the plotline. I mean, heck, the Predacons would have won the Beast Wars several times over had it not been for the typical ‘plotting for leadership or outright redemption’ villains tend to deal with.
He’s not perfect (no one is) but I felt most comfortable whenever I heard that ever-so-satisfying “Yesss….”

I laughed, particularly at the Beast Wars and Movie versions.
