Lil Formers #134: Battlestar Galactica

I”m pretty sure this is how BSG ends…they’re ALL Cylons! There never were any humans! Irony! or something…

(PS: any more Warhammer fans…my bro dropped the starting bid on his Bretonnian Army, so go snatch that deal! )

I love the new Battlestar Galactica, and I am sorry to see it end. I do think it is a shame that they used so little of the Cylon Centurians. Let’s face it. It were the Centurians that made us love the original show in the first place! (There were no Transformers on TV back then, so we weren’t picky yet. :P )

  2. autobotspitfire

Battlestar is one of the best shows on tv, but yeah i think in the end the “what a twist moment” will be that they are all cylons and there only was ever one human, lets say baltar the standout for humanity. last week 40k and this week battlestar awesome work matt. rock on.

  3. Zenstrive

Naah..they have kids and such..and that cylon-attacking virus…so not all of them are cylons..
..it’ll be so twisted if the cylons are actually humans and the humans are actually cylons….

  4. Dash Cunning

    Double-Cylon. That would be edgy!

  5. Fudgecrumpet

I wonder who would win in a staring contest between a cylon centurion and KITT off of knight rider. Is the new knight rider still on telly? That’s a pile of balls, right there. Excellent toon again matt, although you could have just this once made this one an animated gif or something so we can see the moving red eyes.

  6. Anubis_Necromancer from Brazil

    I like Andromeda.

  7. TheFreak

This reminds me of Robot Chicken where Seth Green asks the guy at BSG for a writers job and he says “what’s to right? I throw darts at photos of the cast and ‘OH NO! THEY ARE A CYLON! Writes itself…”

  8. ToddofDoom

Yeah, Robot Chicken kind of beat you to this joke. Don’t feel bad. It’s a well known fact that Robot Chicken has robot mind drones that steal people’s ideas while they are sleeping.

Now if the Battlestar Galactica was a Transformer…that would be a plot twist.

  9. WiseOwl

    I’m a Cylon.

    Or am I?

    Yes, I am!

    Or am I?

    Yes, I am!

    Or am I?

  10. Armorock

    Hhaha!
So, the human race is really the Cylons who created Cylons that kill humans that are actually Cylons……pretty clever…

Now if the Battlestar Galactica was a Transformer…that would be a plot twist.

Not really. Robotech thought of it first. SDF-1 anyone? :)

  12. Tyler Swiderski

I think you should go with triple -no- quardruple Cyclon!

  13. Mac

    Best drama on TV, period.

Matt - you keep the standard high! Let’s have a LilFormer Matt Moylan sometime…

  14. ToddofDoom

The SDF-1 was a transforming battleship, not a Transformer. That’s like comparing Starscream to a Veritech fighter; sure they both transform but they’re not the same.

Plus it could transform into a giant cylon. That could be the twist.

  15. WiseOwl

ToddofDoom what if we compared Jetfire/Skyfire to a Veritech?

  16. Endocrom

Agreeing with Mac, Best Drama on TV.

But Spaceball-1 a.k.a. “Mega maid” could take them both down

“She’s gone from suck to blow!”

  17. ToddofDoom

Skyfire has a personality and doesn’t need a pilot or operator so he is still different then a Veritech fighter, even if they look the same.

A Veritech is just another vehicle, like an F-16 or a Semi-truck.

What would have happened if Teletran-1 would have scanned a transforming robot to be one of the Transformer’s vehicle mode in the series? Would it be like a triple changer or what?

  18. Monty Python

    Skrulls, Cylons, etc.

No one’s who they say they are anymore.

  19. NightFire

Reminds me of that episode of the twilight Zone but with Cylons , Hey maybe that’s the twist !!

  20. anonymous

my cyclon counterpart is nearby, real nearby

  21. Sam

I did some reading on SDF-1, it transformed because an important coupling that ron from primary power to the cannon kinda… just… disappeared…. The transformation also killed thousands of on-board citizens.

  22. WiseOwl

Yeah when the SDF-1/Macross performed it’s first space fold, taking the nearby island and it’s inhabitants to the other side of Pluto, they couldn’t simply fold back because the space fold system had seemingly folded to another location.

As did the connections linking the main gun to the power grid, which meant they could only fire the gun after performing the “modular transformation” but they would sacrifice speed in that form.

  23. Thomas

In the Robotech series the transformation came about do to a substance called Protoculture. It allowed machines to mimic life in little ways. All vertechs (and their successors) run off of it. It was the root cause of the entire Robotech series.

Of course considering that Robotech is actually three completely unrelated animated series smashed together and then completely rewritten, this isn’t exactly true. Instead the tech is ‘just because’ and is all nuclear.

The reason for the SDF-1 transformation remains the same. Humans did not repair the FTL drive on the ship correctly and used it incorrectly on top of that, resulting in the drives going off course.

The drives dropped the ship off at Pluto before heading on their marry way, without the rest of the ship. This desertion also took the power couplings to the main guns with it, leaving them unable to fire the only anti-capital ship weapon they had. In the middle of a desperate battle scientists on board figured out that they could change the SDF-1 shape and connect the guns through alternate links to the power-source.

UNFORTUNATELY they immediately implement this plan, not really thinking it through. MANY civilians are killed when the ship reconfigures and the refugee camp/city is caught in the transformation. Many people are either get crushed by moving parts or are ejected into space by outer walls exposing people. Fortunately they learn from the mistake and rebuild the city so it is out of the way of future transformations.

  24. Mechanurgist

What a twist! Never saw it coming. Must be brilliant.

  25. Dwakey

BSG relied too heavily on “super twists” for intrigue, it diluted to near nonsense like Lost >_>

  26. primal convoy in Japan

It was such a SHAME the actual conclusion sucked donkey balls, eh readers? That Matt’s ending would have been better than the actual one doesn’t say much for the actual ending, does it? (No offense Matt)

  27. me

    i”m a cylon and a scrull

  28. me

or better yet one of the cylons i secretly human

  29. thunderwing

    cylons win

  30. tfafan

    optimus is better

  31. vp21ct

actually, that would have been somewhat more interesting than the actual end. If all the survivors had infact been cylons.

    but NO.

  32. Obsidian

the ending was amazing. i need to watch it again.

  33. hellfire

    SPOILERS

all of the human race are cylons :P

we made the cylons the screwed over BSG

like all bad time distortian scifi this happens along long time ago and when they get to earth we barely even have formed yet we had light speed and made it here before BSG could AND had sense to leave a path for them to follow
