Lil Formers #144: ROTF Jetfire
When I first saw the movie Jetfire design several months ago all I could think was…really?…REALLY?
Size-changing Transformers require some pseudo-science to believe. Female Transformers are perhaps a little silly. But an old-man transformer with a bad hip? How the heck does that work? Just give him a new hip from the parts bin! Hell, even humans can do that
Most of the original G1 crew are at least what, 4 million+ years old? no signs of wear there. Even Kup who;s supposed to be especially old isn’t feeble in any way, he’s just crotchety.
So yeah, geriatric transformers = about the most ridiculous idea ever.

April 27th, 2009 at 2:59 am
An old man? Seriously? Wasn’t part of his schtick the fact that he was so new his systems hadn’t even been fully debugged yet? What’s next, “Jet”fire has an old biplane for an alt-mode?
April 27th, 2009 at 3:22 am
Female robots, animal robots, crippled robots… next could be “baby robots”. It’s starting to seem the Smurfs.
April 27th, 2009 at 3:28 am
Poor Mr. ‘Fire
Looks like he needs to go to some retirement home for over-aged (looking) autobots.
April 27th, 2009 at 3:34 am
Holy crap, 3 TF related LF comics in a row?!
April 27th, 2009 at 4:08 am
This also brings up another point. To me Skyfire and Jetfire are two different characters. G1 Jetfire is the toy that looks alot like the Veritech from Robotech who according to his profile is a warrior that is all about the upgrades. THAT is Skyfire from the cartoon who is a scientist and a kind spirtit at heart.
But yeah, Bay is definately stretching it with the new Jetfire. Especially since he commented that he doesn’t want to use Dinobots, because he think they are too silly! -_-
April 27th, 2009 at 7:36 am
Well, personally I find female transformers much more believable now that we have one with a third leg.
~Matt Booker
April 27th, 2009 at 8:33 am
Oh man, Michael Bay are destroying the Transformers.
My poor old valkyrie >.<
April 27th, 2009 at 8:40 am
For cause this and other things TF for Michael Bay, are a disgrace for the franchise.
Are a lot of special effect in the choma key background.
Where’s the story? Where’s the motivation?
Where’s the movie unfinished in the internet for transform the movie in the ridiculous thing of made.
I make something than remember a G1 as well.
Oh, my, I forgetten my English time XD
April 27th, 2009 at 8:42 am
Yes, Transformers Movies have some of the dumbest ideas in TF universe (peeing BB, useless Ratchet, shrinking Allspark cube, etc). Geriatic Jetfire is argueably the worst. Potentially funny, but stupid.
No, he’s not a biplane (Ransack will), he’s a 60’s SR-71 Blackbird…
April 27th, 2009 at 8:49 am
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
April 27th, 2009 at 8:55 am
hahahaha, That’s hilarious, I kinda liked the new design but this comic is priceless
April 27th, 2009 at 9:05 am
Man, I was so full of hope when I saw that Jetfire was gonna be a SR-71 (probably the coolest jet ever).
But a cane? Seriously? Hey Ratchet, EARN YOUR PAYCHECK!
April 27th, 2009 at 9:39 am
I’m not a Transformers fan (heresy!!), but I don’t think female Transformers are silly. If you refer to the “male” ones as “he” and they have male voices and personalities, then it makes perfect sense to have “female” ones with female personalities.
April 27th, 2009 at 10:09 am
I don’t care if having an geriatric transformer makes any sense, I find the idea totally awesome. But then I couldn’t get past the first episode of the original series because I found it so bad.
April 27th, 2009 at 11:41 am
Actually I like the idea of an old transformer with a cane and female robots. And baby robots would be just adorable!
April 27th, 2009 at 11:57 am
well, animal robots makes sense, as do female ones, it was Michael Bay who had issues with female robots that kepts Arcee out of the first movie. but a crippled robot? please tell me this is only a joke, how can a robot be crippled? can’t afford to go to a garage for repairs?
April 27th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
When I friend of mine told me about ROTF Jetfire, I didn’t believe her. But now, the evidence is undeniable.
I don’t know who came up with this concept, but I’ll decide whether I want to kick them or hug them after the movie. Instead of bashing it and blaming Bay for everything like an imature child.
April 27th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
the Arcee and elita one, and other, are the gestal for Autobots.
Ah well, Optimus and Jetfire are a combiner.
April 27th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
“But an old-man transformer with a bad hip? How the heck does that work? Just give him a new hip from the parts bin! Hell, even humans can do that ”
To be fair, it’s not always possible with humans. You don’t always get a ‘new hip, good as new’ situation. Sometimes, there’s permanent damage to surrounding joints and such which results in someone still using a cane. Maybe Jetfire got his hip replaced but the surrounding joints/nerves (or whatever the TF equivalent is for nerves… wires? Transmittors?) are irreparable.
This could be part of some grand scheme to make the TFs seem more like ‘living beings’ than just ‘machines’, which would suggest that the film is really focusing on characterising and ‘humanising’ the robots, which was one thing that fans didn’t like about the first one (the fact that they didn’t really develop the robots as strong characters).
Or, maybe spare parts are hard to come by since Cybertron got destroyed.
I’ll admit, this seems like a stupid idea, but there were a lot of things in the first film that sounded like stupid ideas but made sense on screen, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until I see the final film.
April 27th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT!!!
The idea is that Jetfire is one of the first Transformers of Cybertron. A scout that was send into space to search for new resources to replenish the power of the all-spark cube. Supposedly, Jetfire was one of the very first Transformers on Cybertron. Based very loosly on the Simon Furman concept of the elite 13 from the Marvel Comics, the initial transformers were constructed differently then the regular Transformers. That would mean that Jetfire and the Fallen… And possibly the Constructicons in this movie as well… Work differently and may not be able to be fixed in the same way that the other Transformers are… Plus Bumblebee is still suffering from a sore throat in this next movie… so repairs go slowly in Bay’s world….
April 27th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
Cybertron aren’t destroied.
He are in stand by XD
(Michael Bay until where to the planet to destroy him)
April 27th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
Michael Bay and his acid dreams XD
April 27th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
Plus Bumblebee is still suffering from a sore throat in this next movie…
Wait a second. He was fixed at the end of the prior movie!!!
What, did Shia and Megan making out on his hood do psychological damage? To be fair… it would to me.
April 27th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
Thats not Jetfire, as well thats not Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz Starscream and so. They made up a bunch of robots and pick up famous names for them (or trademarks Hasbro can use widly).
Bay reinvented Transformers by his will and now We are getting into the new Movie Dark Age era again…
April 27th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Poor Jetfire has no respect.
April 27th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Really? Movie hate? I would have expected something more original (and humorous) from you, Matt.
You know you’re going to see the movie regardless, and it will be awesome anyways, because it’s Transformers. On the big screen.
EDIT: Oops! Looks like you typo’d your name…fixed it for you
- Matt
April 27th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
@ malakim2099; Yep… But appearently he’s still healing up after all… He still uses soundbytes to speak with only a hand full of his own words this time… Or at the very least at the start of the movie…
April 27th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
I’m pretty sure that Jetfire is going to turn out to be my favorite character. I thought his little clip in the new footage recently released was hillarious.
April 27th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Oh that is just cruel. I mean. In transformers cybertron there is this old Prime that is clockwork and he is just fine!
April 27th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
Hey, female transformers ROCK!! what, do us femmes no longer get our gender in the show?
(anyway, even OPTIMUS had a girlfriend)
April 27th, 2009 at 5:19 pm
LOL
Reminds me of HOUSE
kinda like the design
April 27th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Female Autobots of Michael Bay have tits.
without it, are not a Michael Bay movie.
April 27th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
I think people need to calm the hell down over the fact that he has a cane in his robot mode. I GUARANTEE that Michael Bay will not just let the transformer be a joke . Think of it this way… YODA had a cane, was old and a very memorable character. I could say that Jetfire very well could be the same thing especially when you have a huge decepticon named Demolisher… so like i said.. people need to stop whining.
April 27th, 2009 at 7:16 pm
Jetfire: “I’m gettin’ too OLD for this slag.”
April 27th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
@’Long Live Mitt Nelson’…Actually, ‘Transformers on the Big Screen’ was done, oh, 20 years ago now. I’ve got the Anniversary DVD, even. Bay’s mess is a knock-off of Robot Jox, with the Transformers names slapped on it. Sad thing is,both movies are going to make $$$ because of ADD types who drool at the shiny explosions and Giant Robot p*ss jokes rather than paying attention to prior work. Same types who drool over neoBSG (BattleSex Galactica!), really…
April 27th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
@Vulpis: Robot Jox was awesome!
April 27th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Really whats the problem with a bot with bad joints and hips? He’s been on earth alone for YEARS, in vehicle mode setting in a museum. I don’t see whats wrong with this.
I guess because in G1 he wasn’t old? Because the movie isn’t G1 enough? What he has to be the like the original skyfire/jetfire that would get his asskicked on a regular basis?
Really a old bot that needs a cane to walk? I don’t see any problem with this. Transformers are still supposed to be living beings. I don’t see why they wouldn’t have some type of problems.
April 27th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
@really: He also got barely any screentime…
Jetfire was ALWAYS my fav in any series (especially Armada) and honestly, i could give a donkey dung ass if he has a cane,
@Raymond T.:But yeah, Bay is definately stretching it with the new Jetfire. Especially since he commented that he doesn’t want to use Dinobots, because he think they are too silly! -_-
Wasn’t that Roberto Orci? I’m pretty sure it was Orci
April 27th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
I’ll put it this way.
If Frenzy can get a new body after being decapitated (granted quick grown from exposure to the…all spark(?), then Jet Fire can get a new hip, and any near by wires and such.
I just have to ask why? Why even bother to make him this way? Now an older character like UlraMagnus I could see something like this, like no more repairs possible due to older mental circuits not accepting new hardware problems, but JetFire?
April 28th, 2009 at 12:17 am
I love these comics.
Actually, BB did get fixed in the movie. If you read the comics that take place between both movies, he got injured again fighting a Decepticon. Ratchet didn’t have time to fix him, before he was rushed back to Sam because OP and the Army thought the Cons might go after Sam.
April 28th, 2009 at 2:32 am
Bahahahahahahaha! XD
April 28th, 2009 at 4:36 am
Wierd question we only saw the Allspark make decepticons in the Live Action movie how do they make Autobots, and if they are all robots that replicate by mechanical construction then gender is not even applicable. Sure having a female role-model to get girls into TF (trust me it happens once in a blue moon) may be worth it. I believe that if they ever remake the G1 to G2 transfer Bumble Bee should become the new prime (B-Prime) and Ironhide should replace Kup. As for this Jetfire thing it depends on how Bay play’s it out. PS does anybody know that robotic artic cat thing’s name perhaps Tigertron?
April 28th, 2009 at 4:42 am
@ BlakeTC; The decision for no Dinobots was Michael Bay’s and the producers. It was Bay that made the comment when interviewed at a red carpet event that he said that robots turning into Dino’s was too silly.
April 28th, 2009 at 7:09 am
Hmm… Since I never equate the Bay-formers with any other reiteration of Transformers, I actually have no problem about this. Of course if Old Man Jetfire starts chewing tobaccy and “lubricating” uncontrollably…
Oh, the hell with it: Damn you, Michael Bay!
April 28th, 2009 at 8:24 am
OMG! What have they done ?!?! O_O
April 28th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
so many ppl complain about the TF movies but i would like to see them do better.
TF has had so many diffrent desings just think of this movie as one. i dont think its any worst off than TF animated.

April 27th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
I GUARANTEE that Michael Bay will not just let the transformer be a joke .
Did you saw the trailer???
Jetfire has like Kup, always tell something for the past.
-I remember what happend in the planet …. in the galaxy … in the many cicles past…
Dont botrher the script, the director kill the franchise.

OMG! What have they done ?!?! O_O
Didi you say all, brother.

Anubis_Necromancer from Brazil: Did you saw the trailer???
Jetfire has like Kup, always tell something for the past.
-I remember what happend in the planet …. in the galaxy … in the many cicles past…
Like Kup, which is from G1. And like the fans, always speaking of something from the past. You’d think he’d go over well with the fans seeing as he’s imitating their primitive flesh-creature fixation with past chronal events, which is sci-fi speak for backwards-monkey-obsession-with-things-that-already-happened. Guess the truth is uglier than fiction. XD
Anyways, things seem a little iffy, but I like his design, and he has potential. I’m going to reserve judgement until I see the movie, though I’m sure I’ll love it as I’m easily pleased. XD
After all, don’t most of you believe in innocent until proven guilty?
Objectively speaking, this comic was nicely funny. The concept is admittedly a little iffy, but people have mentioned that he’s on earth and probably doesn’t have much spare parts. And besides, the allspark is gone, and even when it was around, you probably don’t risk touching it just for a new hip. XD
April 28th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Funny comic. As for it,I actually have no problem with having an old ‘bot with bad limbs. Not like he’s seen a cybertronian medic in a long while. As for the female and animals,we need the Dinobots :D.
April 29th, 2009 at 3:35 am
Congratulations, You explained “ROTF” really stands for “Rolling On The Floor”
MB really seems to be picking personalities, whilst Hasbro pick toys, and then.. well, nobody really cares if they match up (Kupp’s brain in Jetfire’s body, Perceptors brain in Ratchett’s body). Now… I can completely forgive achey creaky Jetfire, if, and only if, this is an elaborate set up for a WD-40 product placement!
April 29th, 2009 at 8:54 am
All this and i bet they won’t even make Wheelie rhyme…
April 29th, 2009 at 11:53 am
The most ridiculous part is every time Michael Bay says he’s not making a cartoon.
April 29th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
There’s no bigger Transformers hater than Michael Bay.
April 29th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
I think everyone needs to remember that this isn’t a movie version of G1. Undoubtedly G1 continuity was the best, but characters in a new continuity don’t have to be identical to their G1 counterparts. Look at G1 Wheeljack and Armada Wheeljack. What do they have in common beyond both having a car as an alt-mode? Surely it’s better to have new characters with a few homages?
And maybe a Transformer with a bad hip is a little unlikely, but the whole point of Transformers, the reason it’s lasted so long is (apart from the unlimited playability of the toys) is PERSONALISATION. Those character quirks like Shockwave’s devotion to logic, Grimlock’s speech impediment, even Wheelie’s rhyming. It’s what makes us love them (or hate Wheelie, but still in a likeable sort of way). A dodgy hip and a walking stick shouldn’t make everyone so indignant, eh? Everyone would complain if Kup was a young bot… oops. Sorry BotCon. I guess it’s okay if it’s set in the past.
The point is, it’s the characters that make Transformers. And anyway, you can just chalk up continuity errors and plot holes to the Unicron Singularity, right?
By the way, very funny strip, as per usual. Nice to see so many TFs recently!
April 29th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
“I think everyone needs to remember that this isn’t a movie version of G1.”
So what?! That doesnt give anyone the right to butcher something till it’s nothing more than boobs, booms and farts!
And another thing, when you’re making an adaptation of something, YOU BASE IT ON ORIGINAL!
I’m sick of people justifying bull made by greedy hackholes!
Have a pleasant day.
April 29th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
@ RaymonT: Well, Isn’t it? At least thinking setting-wise, Robotic-dinasaurs can’t really disguise in cities
@ Grimbot: You mean that series with the plotholes, and characters dissapearing and reapearing out of the blue. Continuity errors, Animation oopsies and the fact that is set about 20 years ago? Yeah, no.
I’m surprised no-ones making a fuzz that Wheelie will be in it though. I thought you guys hared him or something.
April 29th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
@ BlakeTC
And Scorpinok & Ravage do?
April 29th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
@BlakeTC : Clearly you must be under thirty, for that series was the Genesis of it all. Faults and all, it’s still better than the craptastic, plot hole filled, motion sickness inducing movie that Bay & Co. churned out. As a movie alone it failed. As a TF movie, it was abysmal.
So another TF movie by Bay? Yeah, no.
April 29th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
@Grimbot: Since when were the live action flicks adaptations?
April 29th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
@ raymondT: Scorponok was in a dessert, and apperently, so will ravage. There, that’s my statement.
@ PPV: yes, I’m under 20 even. Does that matter? You think just cuz I’m young I don’t have clear perspective? I’ll admit I’m a comformist but my opinion on the franchise is just as important as yours or Matt’s. I don’t see any camera shaking except on the running scenes, which makes sense. The only plothole I saw was prime’s suicidal plan. I’m not trying to convince you or anything. I’m giving out my opinion just like everybody else. and if you can’t respect it, well then too bad. Like it or not, ROTF will still make a big hit. It will still gain millions, and it will still have a third sequel and it will still be directed by Michael Bay. So bitch all you want, it won’t change a thing.
April 29th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
@ jay: my thoughts exactly
April 30th, 2009 at 1:38 am
Has anyone thought about having to change his cyber-depends?
April 30th, 2009 at 3:19 am
@ BlakeTC: So by your own admission, Transformers in Michael Bay movies do not have to be able to disguise themselves in a city. And therefore the comment that Bay made that dino’s are silly is mute!
April 30th, 2009 at 8:15 am
I like the new designs, They are different from the older designs, but then again, every series has new design styles and themes, not everything can be like the now highly outdated G1 series
April 30th, 2009 at 11:50 am
“So what?! That doesnt give anyone the right to butcher something till it’s nothing more than boobs, booms and farts!”
Is that what I said? No. My simple point is that the Movie is not G1. The Unicron Trilogy wasn’t based on the original. Neither was RID, and Animated isn’t either. If everything was the same as in was back in the day, people would get tired. Brilliant as the original was, it needed a reboot by Generation 2. The movie is not G1. You want G1, watch the original movie and, as BlakeTC said to someone earlier, stop bitching about the new franchise. As Aesir says, every series has different styles and themes. Let’s all watch ROTF and THEN go on a cast and crew killing spree if we must.
April 30th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
Phaeton…
“Actually, BB did get fixed in the movie. If you read the comics that take place between both movies, he got injured again fighting a Decepticon. Ratchet didn’t have time to fix him, before he was rushed back to Sam because OP and the Army thought the Cons might go after Sam.”
Let me fix that for you…
“Actually, BB did get fixed in the movie because they weren’t 100% sure if there would be a sequel. Then when they decided to make one, and realized they had no actual content or depth to deal with and had to rely on gimmicks, they wrote some half-ass comic to explain why they are so stupid.”
April 30th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
rotf= revenge of the fallen {or} roll on the floor
May 1st, 2009 at 12:18 am
from what i know, in rotf jetfire left cybertron in the middle of the war cause he got tired of it, he went to earth and i guess he was unable to make regular repairs since earth has very primitive technology compared to cybertronian technology?
May 1st, 2009 at 1:41 am
I’m kinda partial to the idea.
Firstly; this is one persons (or teams) idea of how Transformers should be if set in the real world. Though as someone who writes it’s not easy and I can undersand how alot of people go “I could do better” but it really isn’t that easy.
I still look forward to TF2 not because it’s destroying my memories of G1 but giving it a perspective on it.
May 1st, 2009 at 8:27 pm
Remember, if it isn’t G1, Matt WILL hate on it.
May 1st, 2009 at 8:42 pm
@ Dizgruntled; Do you even know who Matt is?
May 2nd, 2009 at 12:06 am
“I’ll admit, this seems like a stupid idea, but there were a lot of things in the first film that sounded like stupid ideas but made sense on screen, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until I see the final film.”
Things made sense in the first one? Please point these out to me, as I didn’t see them. (Much like I’m not going to see this travesty.)
May 2nd, 2009 at 2:55 am
hey, Matt, something funny that just occured to me when reading your description.
the 4million+ years part. To me that has to be the most outragious part of the series, considering how often they kill off these characters LoL.
May 2nd, 2009 at 6:01 am
I think a grizzled veteran Transformer is awesome.
May 2nd, 2009 at 6:03 am
…does a disabled Transformer get to park in disabled spots?
May 2nd, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Um, what’s the point of even having him in the movie? He’s not really gonna be very useful…
May 2nd, 2009 at 10:54 pm
This isn’t really about “Geewun” fans and movie fans, it’s more about the lack of consistency in the creative department of the movie. I hated the first one and I debated hours with other Transfans that liked it the difference between human representations of the robots, which I wanted and the alien metal monsters the movie had and other people preferred.
And now, suddenly, the movie goes so far out of its way that one of those alien robots that Bay seems to favor so much is strangely reminiscent of my grandpa. He didn’t even make him a cool cripple, like House, or something.
Comic’s funny, good job.
May 3rd, 2009 at 11:39 am
I wasn’t happy with “old man” thing, but at least they have him in the movie. I was hoping for his personality to be more like his Armada self. He’s funnier that way and now he’s like Kup . . . no offence to any Kup fans out there.
May 3rd, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Someone saw the trailer:?
Optimus lost a leg.
BBB lost two legs and don’t die.
Michael Bay and his Animeformers…
May 4th, 2009 at 3:04 am
being one of the 80’s cartoon fans i admit i have my problems with the first movie particularly the non characterization of the bots considering thats what made the G1 popular. i find the idea of jetfire as kup kind of cool and still annoyed no dinobots.but looking forward to owning the new devestator
May 4th, 2009 at 6:23 am
Personally I have no problems with the new movies. I’m a bit thrown off by jetfire but whatever, it’s an interpretation. If it was exactly like G1 I’d be disappointed to a point. With a movie I like to see something different from the original. You don’t have to like each version of transformers either. Did we all like energon? C’mon, we all hold a personal opinion, some think the Bay movies are great, some think of them as a horrible monster.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if you don’t agree with it, respect the other person’s views.
May 4th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Megatron’s gimp arm sucks and Mudflap and Skids are pure Bayhem
For the kiddie along with close ups of Megan Fox
May 4th, 2009 at 12:24 pm
Please stop apologizing for Bayformers. Nobody wanted it to be exactly like G1.
Bay said He didn’t care and that is was a “Dumb F’ing robot movie” If the director thought that… then whats left to discuss? Collider.com interview at F13th opening

Please stop apologizing for Bayformers. Nobody wanted it to be exactly like G1.
I prefer G1 style for this Baystyle ¬¬
May 5th, 2009 at 2:12 am
@Vulpis:
Comparing a Michael Bay movie to the reimagined Battlestar Galactica is like comparing Candyland to Chess. Certainly the new BSG had cooler special effects and the first season was peppered with steamy scenes mainly featuring Tricia Helfer, but clearly BSG focused on plot and intellectual questions, whereas Bay’s Transformers focuses on CGI robots that are difficult to distinguish smashing into each other. I really doubt an audience that enjoys watching sci-fi analogies for political and philosophical debates relevant to our times is the same audience that’s flipping their ish for a film that’s deepest intellectual moment is when the audience wonders “Why does Megan Fox always seem to be covered in baby oil?” That said, BSG’s last season was definitely not short on plot holes and loose threads and sloppy writing. Still, don’t be silly.
May 6th, 2009 at 3:13 am
What did he dooo?!!? That’s so cruel! T_T
May 8th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
It makes sense that Jetfire is the way he is. He’s been on earth for awhile and obviously didn’t want to break cover by asking for a hip replacement.
May 11th, 2009 at 5:25 am
XD That’s sounds so logical that it cracks me to think about the story of Movie 2 XD
May 11th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
XD, your draw is too nice
May 12th, 2009 at 2:07 am
about heros who have a cane and are good fighters, I have 1 word: Yoda.
May 12th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
concur. Ok Megatron is back. Blackout is back. Where the heck is Jazz!
May 20th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Yes, and Optimus should be a truck, not some stupid monkey.
In other words, get ahold of yourself. It’s not bad, it’s just not nostalgiac.
May 25th, 2009 at 2:59 pm

Optimus Prime: Get off my back,Jetfire!
Jetfire: KAFF!! SAY WHAT?!
Optimus Prime: Ugh, never mind…
The combining thing with the toys was considered a pun to me.

Blackout’s dead. But Grindor (who looks like Blackout) will be in it

When I first heard the character was going to be in the movie,I thought,”Nooooo! Oh please,Primus,no! Any character but that! Alright,if he absolutely MUST be in the movie, please make him old, crotchety, and use a cane, instead of being some flashy idiot with an ego bigger than his central processor.”
Well whadaya know? I got my wish! Cane and all! He even looks like how I imagined him…O.o

just watched TF: ROTF last night.
man…what did they do to my favorite transformer Jetfire…or shall I say Skyfire.
they made him look like my grandpa…err OLD! a robot with a staff doubled as a battle axe!
uhm…so far the characterization is…not bad, except for some lines that made me and my friends go “LOL”.
and Jet Prime…one fine example of mecha love, it’s 2 become one!~

the Transformers CLEARLY have male characteristics but as soon as a female transformer is presented, then there’s a problem? wtf is up with that
June 27th, 2009 at 4:18 am
And what did I tell you? The film is released and the whole Jetfire cane thing makes PERFECT SENSE.
Oh ye all of little faith!
(I still think the comic is funny though)
July 26th, 2009 at 8:41 am
I think Jetfire should have been like the 1 from animated he was funny and i think jetstorm shouldve been in TF2 aswell!

Well, I heard this theory. Transformers usually drink energon to sustain themselves right. It sort of keeps them fit, and helps to age them well (in other words they are not old.) But since energon hasn’t been harvested in millions of years they are forced to use other stuff. Jetfire being millions of years old, unable to transform into his robot mode, not getting any energon, and having to go through human battles didn’t take the aging part all that well. The reason why his hip is bad is because rust has corroded his parts.

!! There`re SO many stupid moment in Revenge that it seems Bay did them on perpose >_<” the film`s awfull…. poor `cons - they look like insects ( vvery ugly insects oo”). And twins… well, no comments =((
poor Jetfire… i really like him in G1. but in the movie - he`s terrible =_=”
November 20th, 2009 at 7:44 am
agree with you delta.
i thought the fact that jet fire was kept in pristine condition in a mueseum meant he would be in good condition or look remotely like he did in G1. but i guess they need a line between fly and land based for sequels.
i was really pissed off at the TF2 movie.. take out shanghai and the forest fight and the rest of the movie was god awfully bad. i mean devestator looked cool but had like 5 min screen time before a HUMAN killed him. he did not even get respect of being killed by a autobot. im just glad that devestator killed the twins. or atleast they no longer showed up after meeting him

I’ve (been reimagined for revenge of the) fallen, and I can’t get up!
Stop, Prime time! (or is it cable time?)
(Kinda quoting Weird Al Yankovic - Can’t Watch This)
February 21st, 2010 at 7:14 pm
He’s all old and feebile because of lack of energy that’s what makes movie ‘bots old.
March 2nd, 2010 at 3:05 pm
The reason Jetfire from ROTF is falling apart is because he has gone for so long without a supply of energon.

Ok, once you get past all the crap of Jetfire and look at his charecter, I think you will find him very funny. Michal Bay is not a fan of Transformers, thus he screwed everything up. Also, they had no idea if their would be a sequal or not, and I personally am willing to go by what bay wants us to if only so that I can enjoy Bumblebee. I just dont bother trying to see the charecters as they are in other series, as thye are`nt, and never will be as they should be. Also, Bay is sexist, thus he hates the idea of awsome kick-butt femmes, and for some reason hes willing to put a Blackout look alike, but not a Jazz look alike. also, in the third movie, why didnt they just use the matrix?
Optimus Prime: Ok
Ratchet: He doesnt even throw wrenches! WTF? wheres the real ratchet?
Jazz: his visor is not reatractable, hes needs it to see!/its his trademark and helps him as a sabatuor
Bumblebee: OMP, they ruined him! ruined! in real life Ratchet would fix him easy, and he would be awsome!
Ironhide: He is the only charecter that he hasnt compleatly screwed.
Arcee: WTF? whats going on here? is she a team of motorbikes, or one bot in three bodys? where the explanation? WHERE THE PIT IS THE REAL ARECEE?
Megatron: is it me, or is he …corny?
Starscream: where the hell is his trine? at least they got his personality right
Barricade: I dunno about him, is he from another `verse? he dissapears though…
Soundwave: WHERE THE HELL ARE HIS CASSETES? WHY DOESNT HE CARE ABOUT THEM? WHY ISNT LAZERBEAK A CONDOR? WHY DOES RAVAGE HAVE ONLY ONE EYE? WHERE RUMBLE? SOUNDWAVE WOULD THROW A FIT THE FRENZY DIED LIKE THAT! WTF???????
Shockwave: a cyclops with giant tentecal thingys. Im not even gonna bother
Jetfire: hes been alone on Earth for centuarys, he hasnt had any Energon in who knows how long, and so hes falling apart, is cranky, needs a cane, and uses a spacebride. at least there SOME salvagable things in here
so, in a nutshell, Bays screwed the whole thing up. compleatly.Any hardcore or original Transfans, dont expect much. Why did they choose BAY of all people?
basically, all that can be said id this: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE REAL TRANSFORMERS???????????
