Octoblog: Japanese goodies!
Hey all,
Well haven’t exactly been keeping up with the Octoblog as often as I wanted, hopefully this’ll make up for it! My boss just came back from a business trip to Japan, visiting with all our video game and manga partners (my day job is as a comic book, manga, and art book editor don’tcha know?). And when he returned he brought me some wicked Japanese goodies!
You guys will be most impressed with this, a vintage Japanese Transfomers 45 rpm vinyl record from 1986! Mint condition! As i can figure, it features two songs from the the 3rd season of Transformers in japan. Now I just ned to head visit my one friend who actually owns a record player!

Then, possibly just as cool, an actual Mega Man E-tank! Well, really it’s just a novelty soda meant to look like it… was part of the promo for Mega Man 9. Thats a Japanese copy of the Mega Man Megamix manga in the back there…we’re publishing that in January.

Is that an actual comic, and not just an art book? I’d rather not make the same mistake I did when I ordered what I thought was a Mega Man Zero comic collection.

@ShadowWing Tronix:
Yep this is an actual comic, not an art book. We are publishing two manga series:
Mega Man Megamix (3 volumes)
Mega Man ZX (2 volumes)
Artbooks the one you probably have is “Mega Man Zero: Official Complete Works”. We are also soon publishing Mega Man: Official Complete Works(classic mega man), and Mega Man X: Official Complete Works.

Oooh, I hope that Mega Man soda tastes better than the Final Fantasy potion soft drink they tried to promote for the FF games…
…you ARE going to drink it, right? Right?
Come on… you know you’re curious. Give in…

I say save it for the next Robot Master attack.
I actually sold it (at cost–no profit for me) to a co-worker whose now-husband is a huge Mega Man fan. (I’m more of a classic era MM fan, but I did enjoy the NT Warrior manga.) I’m not into the Zero era (because I never played it, mostly), but I’m looking forward to the MM comic.
