Lil formers #168: Hottest Wheels
Wanted to practice drawing something I’m not that good at, so I chose cars. I think they turned out okay!
These are my three fav fictional cars: Ecto-1, the time machine, and the Batmobile. For the Batmobile, I probably actually like the original animated series version best, but I went with the Tim Burton version as it’s one of the most iconic. The current “Bat-Tank” int eh movies is just okay. It’s a cool vehicle on it’s own, but doesn’t really fit with Batman very well.
Got you own fav fictional cars? Cuz if they’re different than mine than I’m afraid you’re simply WRONG.

Brilliant and well done.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:02 am
Awesome. Just awesome.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:15 am
Nice choices! Though I am sad to see Kitt from Knight Rider was not among them XD
October 19th, 2009 at 3:35 am
Kitt would have been a easy sell, with his integrated GPS/Restaurant Finder.
An anime car would have been nice too, like the Mach 5 or Asurada.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:41 am
Lol, cup holder.
Whay about Kaneda’s bike? The Thundertank? Spidermobile?
October 19th, 2009 at 3:44 am
Gah! I can not think of any other cool and iconic movie cars beside those three…..
I did think about James Bond’s car that can go underwater (complete with fins), but that is for sisies….
October 19th, 2009 at 4:41 am
Hey, long time lurker, first time poster…
First off, want to say I LOVE this site. Been checking in every Monday for a year or so but never commented till now.
How about Christine? Or “the car” from the cult horror movie The Car?
October 19th, 2009 at 4:44 am
Nice strip! But like, where’s the Turtle Van, dude?
October 19th, 2009 at 4:57 am
Great choices, though a few of others come to mind;
KITT
Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang
007’s Aston Martin DB5 (with accessories)
The Mystery Machine
October 19th, 2009 at 5:00 am
I love the cupholder mention! :p
But yeah,… You can’t beat the Knight Industries Two Thousand / Knight Automated Roving Robot…

October 19th, 2009 at 7:05 am
Am I the only one that noticed the cost of Ecto was the cost used in the Sega Master System version of the old 8-bit Ghostbusters game? Nice touch man! Love the littel details you put in these.
October 19th, 2009 at 7:55 am
Like the others, I too first thought of K.i.t.t. and the mach 5. But then I remembered a car that could do all that those cars could do and more.
Where is the love for the Gadgetmobile. It’s a far better car than the bat mobile and it transforms into a van for extra storage.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:14 am
My choices:
Bessie (from Dr. Who)
Herbie
KITT
October 19th, 2009 at 10:02 am
Two Words. Turbo Teen.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:45 am
Lol cup holder.
And yeah, I love the animated series too. It’s definitely the best Batman series ever. And they got MARK HAMILL as the Joker! MARK FREAKING HAMILL! Oh, and Kevin Conroy is definitely the best Batman.
I’ve actually been revisiting the series lately. After I’m done with it, I’m going on to Superman the Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. In other words, the entire DCAU. It’s just so awesome.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:55 am
I love the cup holder.
Geez, those are probably my favorite fictional cars other than the new Bumblebee Camaro.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:59 am
Could be very nice have lilformers versions os these cars…. TransMovieFormers….
October 19th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Cup holder rocks!
Is anyone remembers to the citroen of Fantomas or am I just too old?
I’m missed too Herbie and KITT and certainly some of the transformers - maybe the lilformers are on the other side of this paper
October 19th, 2009 at 12:24 pm
Errmm…
Where can I add the DeLorien to my cart?
October 19th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Rusty Yellow Camaro (aka Michael Bay’s Bumblebee) should have been in there for $5,000 and list the shrieking alarm, custom faded paint job and a not for sale to boy with cheap father sign. You could now expand to other vehicles, like Wonder Woman’s invisible jet and Pokemon’s Team Rocket Air Balloon.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:15 pm
Suprised no one has mentioned the A-Team van yet. Complete with “Pity da Foo” horn, “Pity da Foo” security system, and “Foos that have been Pitied” bumpers.
October 19th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
No mention of the General Lee so far? A 1969 Dodge Charger with a horn that plays “Dixie” and a huge Confederate flag on the roof? Of course, my love for it comes from the TV series, not the horrible movies. Boss Hogg’s stretch limo and Uncle Jesse’s black Mustang from his moonshine running days are both good cars too. Maybe some of the M.A.S.K. vehicles are in there too.
October 19th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
hehe Mr. Fusion never leave home without one. nice pick I still think I would take the ecto-1
October 19th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
For Sale: The goblin faced Semi from “Maximum Overdrive” - goblin bombs not included. LOL
October 19th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
How about:
The Mystery Machine
The Turtle Van (from the original TMNT animated series).
KITT and the General Lee are cool too of course but the Turtle Van always reminded me of the Mystery Machine…only with weopons and tech *lol*
October 19th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
Long time fan, first time poster. Love your stuff man, here every monday to check you out. Don’t know if you’re familiar with the show but the Cadillac Cats’ Cadillac from the 80s Heathcliff show would’ve been a good addition. Turns into a van and a boat, how can you beat that? XD
October 19th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
Matt, I think it’s interesting that as a Transformers artist you can admit to not drawing cars well.
love the strip!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
@Jarkes If you loved that Batman series, you’d love the new Batman, Arkham asylum game if your into those style of games… most the characters, including batman, harley and joker to say the elast, are all voiced by their Animated Series Voices.
PS…. my fav fictional car is the Ecto-1 as well…. GB’s forever!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:55 pm
Very cool. Maybe in vol.2 KITT?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
All these posts and no one mentions the Mach 5? Pfffft, losers.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Batmobile is the best haha
October 19th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
how bout the vehicles from M.A.S.K.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:49 am
Great strip, but I believe it was a 1988 Corvette String engines the base model and since the movie was only released in 1989, a little hard to use a car form two year in the future! Use they designer bought the Delorean first then designed the Batmoblie.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:24 am
I like Frankenstein’s car from the original Deathrace 2000
October 20th, 2009 at 7:43 am
FYI, Hallmark has an ECTO-1 ornament this year, and yes it plays the Ghostbusters theme
October 20th, 2009 at 9:26 am
Grinned when I saw the strip… Great minds and all that…
Bought all three when I saw the ad.. Check em out :

Ok about the Batmobile, Impala’s have been around for quite sometime, and one was used for the Batmobile. I know wikipedia isn’t always right so, please don’t think I am a person who reads on net and believes it. I have seen the information else where at a more reliable source, IE my Batman DVD special features etc but I can’t really post that on here as a link. Enjoy
I liked the strip. It would be cool if you had the little TF guy who was DeLorean on there with the time machine, Can’t remember the TF’s name but I have the figure lol

October 20th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
pshaw wrong?
How could anybody be wrong with Thunderhawk (M.A.S.K.), the Red Fury Turbo Racer (Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs) and FAB-1 (Thunderbirds)?
Your choices are fine too, but in no way definitive.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
me again btw, according to one comic reference Gotham City is in NJ this may have changed since the most recent crisis but I don’t think it has. Anyways great strip keep em up
October 20th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
No Turbo Teen car?! You’ve failed me. (Great strip though. Maybe you can do a follow up.)
October 20th, 2009 at 3:13 pm
you forgot some of the land based thunderbirds like the mole
October 21st, 2009 at 7:07 pm
#3 - Pole Position cars Wheels and Roadie (remember hydrofoil mode and hovercraft mode?)
#2 - K.I.T.T
#1 - Matt Tracker’s Thunderhawk
Honorable mention: Wheeled Warriors
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:05 am
Great coincidence as I bought a car this week.
October 22nd, 2009 at 9:08 am
No Mach 5?
*sob*
A LF Speed Racer strip would be awesome.
October 22nd, 2009 at 9:46 am
@Warcrime:
Yeah, I probably would love that game, but… I don’t have an Xbox 360 or PS3… T_T
October 22nd, 2009 at 6:41 pm
You know, this easily could have been a strip with the Transformers/Go-bots in their vehicle modes. Another funny car that I could see in this would be the Flintstone’s car. (Alternative fuel. Well preserved. A classic.) Another honorable mention goes to Speed Buggy. (I watch way too much Boomerang.)
October 23rd, 2009 at 3:17 am
I dunno i think one of mine would have to be Herbie
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:30 am
@Mike Hearn - I think the $4,800 more likely referenced the actual movie, rather than the SEGA Game…
October 23rd, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Gotham City is New York, not DC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotham_City
October 23rd, 2009 at 5:56 pm
According to the DC Atlas Gotham is in New Jersey with Metropolis across the bay in Delaware. http://www.karridian.net/dcusa_ne.html
But in reality Gotham is in Wisconson (named after the town in England) and is home of the University of Wisconson. Metropolis is in Illinois (and was actually initially gonna be the capital of the U.S before Washington DC was chosen. Now it’s a Superman tourist trap town).
October 24th, 2009 at 1:31 am
do the invisible jet!
for sale: Invisible Jet
Desc.: Is invisible, fires lazars, etc. …
or Bay’s BB/ Ironhide….
October 24th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
Hey, I just noticed that the Batmobile said “Gotham City, DC!” *rimshot*
October 26th, 2009 at 3:04 am
@fatenabu1
The only way to truly know is to have been there when they built it. I found that at http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Batmobile_(Burton_Films) they say it’s Chevrolet Caprice chassis. and the behind the scene movie Mag from when I was a kid says corvette. I think they built five and never used the same parts twice. either way, I’d still like to drive it.
October 26th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Love the choices, but if there’s one car yard I’d like to check out, it’d have to be the Wacky Races used car lot. Sure, they’re already cartoon cars, but how cool were they?!
DR
October 27th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
@Hawk
The Spidermobile couldn’t even sell on Craigslist! Nice choice, though.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
that’s funny. they should have that listing at the world biggest auto auction..
November 13th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
What about the Ratcatcher (Darking Duck’s motorcycle) or the Fantasticar? I think that there should be a strip where the Ghostbusters bust Starscream. THAT would be funny, especially if Egon gave a technobabble description of Screamer’s spark!
November 16th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Gotta point out, Gotham City is in Gotham State.
Definitely do the Busting of Screamer!
November 19th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
Yes! 3 of my favourite cars!! Thanks!!
November 20th, 2009 at 8:58 am
a cup holder? ill take 7!
honestly i like the general lee, next gen shuttle and tardis as transport but of fictional cars i would def buy a delorian. 0-88 in 1.21 gigawatts is just awesome.
also @ human torch. who wants fantiscar it is a flying bathtub? now fantiscar 2 is cool.
oooh and if possible i want my car to be the spirit of freedom from astro boy movie. that vessell is more dakka and *SPOILER* it only gets to be a hand in the end with the merging of a robot *END SPOILER*
November 22nd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
TBH I think Matt should’ve put some sort of gundam that had its legs and arms removed and some wheels slapped on, and in the description it could’ve said ‘Not At All A Ploy To Sell A Giant Illegal Robot, Really’
December 21st, 2009 at 11:56 pm
those cup holdes sure drive up the price _V_;
January 4th, 2010 at 2:09 am
Omg.
Kool cars
February 8th, 2010 at 12:18 pm
how come bumblebee’s not for sale?
February 17th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
I’ll take K.I.T.T (’83 Pontiac Trans Am)
June 16th, 2010 at 7:53 pm
The Burton Batmobile was a modified Corvette ZR-1.
September 18th, 2010 at 9:39 pm
The Batmobile from the Adam West was always my favorite, possibly because it’s regarded as THE Batmobile. >_>
