Lil Formers #172: Blackest Night
Blackest Night is pretty much the most fun comics event in years. If you want to get in on the fun, the only titles you need to read are Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, and Blackest Night. There are a ton of tie-in crossover books too, but nothing at all happens in any of them (though for crossover books they are better than you’d expect).
And if you don’t know who Captain Planet is, all you need to know is that he’s a hero. And he’s going to take pollution down to zero.
And for anyone who wants to know ont he lantern part we have(starting top left):
Sinestro(Yellow Lantern), Indigo-1(Indigo Lantern), Atrocitus(Red Lantern), Saint Walker(Blue Lantern), Agent Orange(Orange Lantern), Hal Jordan(Green Lantern) and Carol Ferris(Star Sapphire)

That is just brilliant. I never read the Green Lantern books but I did see sollicitations for these comics in Previews.
But of course I know Captain Planet. Interesting tv show and ok to watch given the many crappy shows that also aired.

You are so not creative!
I was thinking a Black Lantern Captain Planet, resurrected together with the rainbow kids, but no, you have to put out the most obvious joke.
And oh: THEY F***ING KILLED KYLE! THE NERVE! SILVER AGE 2.0 is here, my friend! They killed Gehenna! Damage! The Hawks (all three of them!)! They even killed Tempest!
Anyway, the tie-ins have more important revelations than the main series because they tell us that:
1. The BLs can not see you if you are inanimated under ice
2. Mixed emotions are poisonous to BLs
3. Hope conquers all, even Death!

“…all you need to know is that he’s a hero. And he’s going to take pollution down to zero.” Hahahaha!
I remember this cartoon. I liked the Russian “Wind” chick!
November 16th, 2009 at 9:02 am
A friend pointed out to me that Star Sapphire should be Carol Ferris. Carol Danvers is Ms. Marvel from Marvel Comics.
November 16th, 2009 at 9:16 am
It’s really a surprize to see this guy here…
Great!
November 16th, 2009 at 9:42 am
Aw…. no Fu Manchu-stached Hitler?
November 16th, 2009 at 10:01 am
Carol Danver is not Star Sapphire. Carol Ferris is. Carol Danvers is Ms. Marvel.
November 16th, 2009 at 11:31 am
There was a Green Lantern at FanExpo, actually dressed in the suit for promoting the new animated movie. I really wanted to get everyone wearing Black Lantern rings together, walk up to him, speak the BL oath, and then get everyone wearing a BL ring to reenact “Thriller”.
The blackest night falls from the skies
The darkness grows as all light dies
We crave your hearts and your demise
By my black hand–The dead shall rise!
(defeated only in its awesome by the Blue Lantern oath)
In fearful day, in raging night
With strong hearts full our souls ignite
When all seems lost in the war of light
Look to the stars–For hope burns bright!
November 16th, 2009 at 11:59 am
That joke are so much used in my country in the site called Melhoresdomundo.net
And the Blackest Night that’s the best serie of comics are launch.
November 16th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Kyle Rayber Blue Lantern????
That’s NONSEnSE!!!!
What going now? John Stwart Indigo Latern? Or Hal Jordan Rainbow Latern (it’s true what Hal used must of ring the factions…)
November 16th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
@ Grisnatch: Oops…too much comic knowledge in my head heh
November 16th, 2009 at 3:01 pm
I didn’t even know there were other colors… I mean, I knew about the Black Lanterns and Green Lanterns, but Red? Indigo? Blue? Orange? I feel really dumb now, lol.
November 16th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jordan. Way to be positive… Aw, who am I kidding? We’re screwed.
November 16th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Can’t agree more with green lantern. I used to watch Cpt Planet and he really sucked! Nice one.
November 16th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
hahahaha, hilarious
November 16th, 2009 at 5:55 pm
This is hilarious! Captain Planet’s great, he’ll defeat all of those Black Lanterns! haha
November 16th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
I would like to point out that the Indigo Tribe does use rings. Their staff’s are akin to other corps power batteries, they use them to collect emotional energy.
November 17th, 2009 at 1:55 am
One word: priceless
November 17th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Gonna help him put asunder,
badguys who like to loot and plunder!
November 17th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
“You’ll pay for this, Captain Planet!” Oh, joy. Now the Captain Planet theme is stuck in my head. My question is how is he supposed to defeat the BLs if he doesn’t have the Planeteers for back-up? All the BLs would have to do to defeat him is grab a random barrel of oil and throw it on him. Then what? Do any of the power rings have the power to summon water and sunlight?
November 17th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
Okay, yah that joke is not creative, I mean Im sure weve all thuoght it, but It really did need to be made. I’m glad Matt was the one to make it. hes on a roll in coming with with awesome strips for the past few weeks.
THE POWER IS YOURS!
November 18th, 2009 at 1:03 am
The Green Mullet of Doom… XD
November 18th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
good one, Matt!
ur jokes r getting better again!
do u think u can do a Voltron? liked the Red Lion on Devastator one u did way back!
November 18th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
and can we go back to more G1 strips? they were the funniest!
November 18th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
This is the greatest LilFormers comic strip ever.
I am SO buying a print of this at TFCon next year.
November 18th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Screw Jordan. It should have been Kyle, just as a memorial. poor Kyle.
;_;
November 18th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
LMFAO LOL DUDE NOW THATS FUNNEH! HAHAHAHAHA
November 19th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
I would like to request/plead for a Blackest Night wallpaper with the main representatives of each corps. I think your take on each one would be amazing. Here’s to hoping!
November 19th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Really, when their powers combine it should create Alan Moore.
…..who will then jump off the page and beat up Geoff Johns for giving such awful dialogue to his Lovecraftian demons from the Empire of Tears. Ugh.
And there will be much gnashing of fanboy teeth and complaints written IN CAPS….
November 19th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
@Quartermost:
And he will also beat the crap out of whoever it was that made the film version of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. XD
November 19th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
XD it could have been worse, Rainbow Brite dressed as a captain planet look alike or viceversa?, I personally find Captain Planet cameo very funny, but since the white light of creation is in similar conception of Primus, im guessing that would have worked too and kept the Tf fans like myself from going “bring back the Bots”.
November 19th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
And will forget the evil villain Duke Nukum. THe radioactive villain wearing a hawaiian shirt with the Jesus sandals. This brings back memories. That and it’s hilarious.
November 20th, 2009 at 9:05 am
i so called this ages ago with all the colors. i even mocked with my friends that when the green, yellow , red, blue and white rings combine somehting epic ill occur. the end of hero faith. i mean really is there a sadder hero than CP?
i recall 1 ep he is so out gunned he merges his own powers to make CP version 2 which was barely good enough to help him
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:24 am
Hey don’t laugh at Captain Planet. Some guy on robot chicken dressed up as him and fricken screwed some corporate guys over. You laugh at Captain Planet and he’ll KILL YA.
*note this is not a serious statement and should not be taken seriously*
November 22nd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
yes, Ted Turner-Planet is not to be messed with.
November 24th, 2009 at 8:03 am
@Jarkes
LXG, please. We shall not sully that lovely comic by association
November 24th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
It’s freackin’ Tuesday man. Where’s the new comic?
November 25th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
ok, Captain Planet is supposedly summoned by 5 rings that embody the make up of a planet right? doesn’t that mean that all these rings which are powered by emotion should summon someone like Captain Emo?
November 26th, 2009 at 1:14 am
LOL at above!!!!….but Captain Cosmo (yah the fairly odpparent!!)
btw Matt are you ok? you are making your fans (some of them at least worried).
I hope for your welfare.
November 26th, 2009 at 4:29 am
Ya I hope he’s not sick or something. That would be terrible.
November 26th, 2009 at 11:38 am
Mr… whoever you are.. you are absolutely insane!
and while i’m at it, a bloody genius as well!
EPIC WIN, my good man! EPIC WIN!
November 26th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
*chuckles* Geoff Johns even alluded to this in Blackest Night #5.
November 27th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
Now, Captain Planet, light our darkest hour.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Just watch… Hal will become a White Lantern and resurrect Kyle. Just you watch.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
y havent u made a frip this week r u ill?
December 1st, 2009 at 3:38 am
It’s funny how I saw this before getting Blackest Night #5 and eventually seeing Star Sapphire and Green Lantern actually making reference to Captain Planet when they all attack the BL Central Power Battery
December 2nd, 2009 at 6:44 am
I really didn’t see this coming o_O Great, Matt! But anyway CP was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid and in fact still is. I guess I’m one of the few who still like it. True, it was kinda stupid but what can I say?
January 11th, 2010 at 12:23 am
Captain Planet? AGAINST NEKRON?!? Yeah, this version of the DC universe is down the crapper….DX
February 8th, 2010 at 11:27 am
