Well, had some trouble drawing with the old Grapphire tablet on the road (I am too spoiled by my Cintiq). So I doodled up something quick. It is rare to see me draw on paper, so enjoy it! Hey, at least it’s Transformers heh.

Okay… the first one is the Beast Wars Ravage (who is actually G1 Ravage rebuilt), the second one is ROTF Ravage (one of the few cool characters from that movie), and the last one is… wait, which one is the last one?

Ravage never gets the love. He was one of my fav’s from G1 and comics. While the new movies made him cool, he still gets killed pretty quick sadly.

@ Fago: The Ravage Toy didn’t. That was a japanese exclusive TransMetal Cheetor repaint, that only transformed into the Jaguar-mode. In the TV show, however, Ravage yells out “DECEPTICONS FOREVER!!!” then transforms into a cassette tape before the ship blows up.

@Raymond T: Actually, in that scene, the producers wanted to, in this brief moment of uber-fanwank, play the original TV show theme, but they couldn’t get the rights to it, so they settled for the classic “transformation sound.”

And actually, he transformed into his cassette mode just before his ship fired upon Optimus Primal and Cheetor (at least, I think it was Cheetor) at the very end of “The Agenda, Part 2.” He shouted “DECEPTICONS FOREVER!” again in the middle of part 3 just before his ship was blown up, but this was NOT when he changed into his cassette mode.

Speaking of the classic “transformation sound,” is the transformation sound used in Transformers: Animated the same one from the original? It sounds similar, but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same.

My friend got me the ISH Ravage and it’s totally sweet. Transforms from flash drive into Ravage minus the missile accessories. Just about as poseable as my G1 Ravage too. It also comes with a program that installs on your computer that creates a desktop Ravage that prowls around on your screen.

Personally, I think ROTF Soundwave and Ravage were two of the few actually cool characters in that movie. I liked how Soundwave had a “behind-the-scenes spy” role that DIDN’T involve any “stupid human moves.”
