Lil Formers #181: Bat to the Future
If you don’t pay attention to comics, the upcoming story Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne features a time-lost Batman in such roles as Bat-Caveman, Bat-Pilgrim, and Bat-Pirate.
I guess that’s fine…Batman was killed by an evil alien overlord’s laser-eyes, I guess his return should be equally as goofy.

Oh god. This resurrection story is going to be awful.
Well, at least it will finally put Final Crisis to bed. Along with Grant Morrison’s career a major event writer, with any luck.

Ok, I never really read Final Crisis, you know cuz how all of it revolves around superman, and I knew Batman died, but they attempt to do PLOT OUT OF A RETCON?!!…that will be …interesting?, but i must admit I did like the design of 19th century Batman in the Bold and the Brave, I belive this is going to be horrible, but I really want to see how Marvel Spoofs this one XD.

The Batman is a timeless icon in American history. It’s only fitting that in reality, Bruce Wayne is a cover identity for Bat-Lincoln!

Monximus its not a retcon. This has allways been what the Omega Sanction does. Its confusing if you don’t know how The New Gods characters work though.
And Price its not a resurrection if the character was never dead to begin with, and Morrison stated time and again that Batman wasn’t dead. Hell he showed batman alive in the issue right after Darksied shot him. Blame Didio for those horrible tie ins and whatnot.
Anyway been looking forward to Bruce’s Return even though Dick’s made a great replacement Batman.

I didn’t read Final Crisis (When it comes to comic books, I mostly watch the adapations), but I read the summary on Wikipedia, and I was like… WTF? And yeah, Didio SUCKS. It’s HIS fault Beast Machines sucked so much.
Also, the New Gods characters are AWESOME. Especially the DCAU versions. “If you will not be my knight, then you will be my pawn.” *shudder* And you know what? That thing with the Omega Beams explains what happened to Kalibak in that episode, Father’s Day (which I heard was crap).

Darkseid zapped Batsy with the Omega Beams in the comics? Huh–I guess the comic authors wanted to give a big Take That middle-finger to the Justice League toon which had him able to *dodge* the Omegas, much to Seidie’s surprise (though he didn’t have too much time to dwell on it, due to Superman delivering the famous World of Cardboard speech right after…)

I would say that modern comics are dead, but I’d be wrong. They’re just asleep off-panel for a few months in another alternate reality.

The only comic book characters I have ever seen able to pull off the different folks in different time periods things are, Witchblade and Wolverine, but Wolverine only if it fits with-in his two hundred years of life, and Witchblade really pulls off but because those ARE different people in different times using the Witchblade, guess by that I could also say the Darkness, but I didn’t care much for Sumerian or Viking Darkness, and the alternate age Spawns just felt out of place with the costume.

No, I do not hate everything. There are quite a few things I hate, Beast Machines and 4Kids being a couple of them. And don’t give me a “If you pretend it’s an alternate reality, it’s not that bad” spiel. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE AN ALTERNATE REALITY TO NOT SUCK? IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SEQUEL, SLAGGIT!

It didn’t suck. Until they said Cybertron was originally organic. It was an exploration into the theological side of Cybertronian lifeforms. Then they messed up. They may as well have said:
“Oh, by the way, that Batman you’ve been watching in cartoons and films and reading about in comics? She’s a woman.”
The dream died, and so did Megatron and Primal.

Yes it did suck. They screwed up all of the characters (ESPECIALLY Rattrap and Silverbolt). If the writing had been a bit better, the direction those two characters took may have worked. It didn’t.

could be worse …. cus assuming that the elseworld “BOOK OF THE DEAD” is true as well as this EFFING up the legacy of Ras’ al Ghul .. we will finally understand why Ras’ is so obsessed with bruce . It just occured to me that if DC keeps up with their current trend, Bats just might die in the comic anyway. Please let that happen. Bruce is cool and everything, but he needs to retire.
That’s why Batman Beyond was so awesome, Different Batman, Different Gotham, Same Bat awesome.
