How’ve you all been!? Well, I’ve been away for a while. but it was only…6 months!? Holy crud! Time flies when you are busy. And boy have I been busy!
The piece above is my artistic contribution to Mega Man Tribute, an upcoming art book from UDON Entertainment (where if you don’t know, I run the UDON publishing division as Managing Editor). I’ve been working on this and about a dozen other art books for games like Valkyria Chronicles, Mega Man Battle Network & Star Force, Street Fighter and a bunch of others . We’re also working on new comics, more Japanese manga translations, and plenty of other projects.
Oh yeah, and also planning for my wedding, and looking at buying a house soon. Those take some of my time too
I’m hoping to be able to post more art now that things are pretty caught up at UDON. I have been working on some of my own original property ideas, and also doing commissions through my deviantart gallery. Check that link out for plenty of pics you probably haven’t seen before!
Also taking ideas for a new Transformers print for summer conventions. You guys have probable previously seen my previous prints like the G1 Battle Scene, Lil Formers the Movie, or Lil Formers Animated. Open to suggestions for this year. Beast Wars? Japanese G1? Uh…Pretenders?(maybe not that one…)
Hey guys! Happy to tell you about a book I put together for UDON - the Street Fighter World Warrior Encyclopedia. I wrote or compiled most of this book myself, and also did all the graphic design and layout.
If you want to know more about the backstory and characters of the Street Fighter universe this the ultimate resource. It uses some of UDON’s best art plus all-new pieces created just for the book. It’ll be on sale June 2010, so to anyone who picks it up, I appreciate your support!
So, out now is the new game Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. It’s a North American update to the Japanese game, which pits the Capcom cast (Ryu, Mega Man, Viewtiful Joe…) against characters from the Japanese animation studio Tatsunoko (Gatchaman, Tekkaman Blade, Yatterman, many others).
I actually worked on part of this game doing color assists (ie: flats) for about half of the in-game story endings. Even got my name in the credits! Check it out!
This is the second game I have been credited in, the first being Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. However that was a download-only game, and this is the first in-store boxed game with my name in it. Pretty cool! Who’s played it!?
Hey guys, I recently did an interview with the gang at ComicBookResources.com about UDON’s upcoming Mega Man Megamix manga series. If you’re a Mega Man fan like me, head over there and check out the article (which also has a bunch of exclusive preview pages!)
Hi guys, on a bit of a break this week for X-mas, but I’ll be back with a new comic on Monday the 28th! See you then!
UPDATE:
Gah!! Seems my website was infected with some sort of ad malware over the weekend? Just finally figured it out. So I’ll be working on a strip tonight to put up tomorrow(Tuesday) sorry guys!
This Wednesday Dec 16th sees the release of Street Fighter II Turbo #10, the latest exciting chapter of UDON’s Street Fighter comic series. What’s special abotu this issue for me though is that that it features a backup story written by yours truly! I have had a few chances to write some stories before (one published only in Japan so far, and one that was a pack-in for the Street Fighter IV game), and I’ve worked as editor on dozens of comics and books, but this is my first writing credit in a regular comic that shows up on comic shop shelves. Pretty cool!
The story is the a fun little thing about the mysterious Street Fighter character Q, and is drawn by the awesome Bob Strang. And of course there’s the main story by the kick-ass regular team of Ken Siu-Chong and Chamba.
Anyone who wants to support one of their favorite web comic artists, please pick up the SF II Turbo #10 this Wednesday! Covers & preview art below!
So, Masters of the Universe Classics is about the only toy line I collect. Recently they revealed the April 2010 figure - Evil-lyn and I thinks she looks pretty cool! Though for some reason it has started a big controversy among MOTU fans that she is a repaint of the Teela figure, with a new head & new weapons.
I can’t for he life of me figure out why people are whining so much. A couple points:
-The original Evil-lyn figure in the 80s WAS just a repaint of Teela
-The whole MOTU line is made up of reused parts, just as it was in the 80s. Most just get a new head, new weapons & new loose armor. Faker actually contains no new parts at all!
Tranfans are fairly used to repaints… maybe you guys can talk some sense into the He-fans heh.
Just giving you all an early heads up, I’ll be doing another Lil Formers live drawing broadcast tomorrow, Thursday Nov 19th, starting at 5pm EST. Here’s the link:
My two newest shirts are for sale, featuring two of the most demanded characters! You can order them here in a variety of colous and shirt styles (t-shirt, v-neck, girly fitted, and long sleeves):
If you’re thinking of ordering before chirstmas, make it soon! Also if you like supporting Lil Formers, now is a good time, since my shirt provider is giving me an extra good rate for the next little while!
I’m going to keep saying “Octoblog” despite it no longer being October cuz Novblog is lame…
Anyways, thought you guy would enjoy another old Transformers fanimation. This was always one of my favs. You can probably figure why. Stay for the bloopers at the end!
